On the lack of ITK...
I remember the ITK frustration of the last World Cup. First there was no ITK because our staff was "taking a break". Then there was nothing because of the World Cup. Then there was nothing because the players who'd played in the World Cup were on holiday. Then we were waiting for everyone to get home from our summer tour.
We waited until August 20th for our first signing (Gallas) and then until the 31st (VDV)
Got a bad feeling... :0)

a VDV type signing would be rather good!

So given @carpediem991's latest a information in the Lovren thread, who are some other realistic CB targets that could work in Poch's system (mobile, athletic, ball-playing, physical enough for Prem)?

Schar (22-Basle), Laporte (20-Bilbao), Martinez (23-Sociedad), Musacchio (23-Villarreal), Astori (27-Cagliari), Garay (27-Benfica), Veltman (22-Ajax), De Vrij (22-Feyenoord), Bruma (22-PSV), Mangala (22-Porto), Papadopoulos (21-Schalke), Doria (19-Botafogo), Balanta (20-River Plate), Ginter (20-Freiburg).

There's plenty of young talent out there ... granted not all them are attainable but there's certainly options open to us.

Vorm will clearly be back up and he would be a great option. Guaranteed a couple of rounds + in both domestic cups as well as Europa, decent pay and the fact that Lloris style of keeping means he gets the odd injury must make the prospect of being our number 2 quite appealing.

I would bet that when we sat down and offered Brad a new contract, Brad mentioned his body was beginning to struggle with even the backups demands, he is 43! So I bet with Fabianski stating he wanted 1st team football at the Britannia and with them out of Europe this season, Vorm has thought, "well if i'm going to be backup, I might as well be richly paid for doing it and I can guarantee myself Europa/cup games at a bigger club" So I think this move makes perfect sense for Vorm because also this way I reckon backing up Hugo at Europa League games would still earn him a call up to the Dutch squad rather than duking it out with Fabianski.

It would also be a good way to show support for Poch because last year when Boruc got injured I bet Poch got sick of having to shove either Gazzaniga or Delvis in goal instead. I reckon Poch would love to have secure PL quality backup considering we'll be fighting on 4 fronts again next season.

if he wanted first team football at the Britannia stadium I would suggest joining Swansea was the wrong move ;)

I must've missed the ITK on those thirty players !!

Wrong thread mate. Start it in spurs chat.

The comment was made a bit tongue-in cheek because of the Vorm discussion, almost a segue since there was actually more information on the matter.

There's definite interest in 4 Swansea players from other PL clubs. Ben Davies, Neil Taylor, Vorm & Bony. They are desperate to keep hold of them and it would take big offers (e.g £20m for Bony) to convince them to sell & reinvest. They are in talks with a CF so may mean an offer has been received for Bony!! They are hoping his price will increase further after the WC!

If Vorm does come in as back up then fair play to the club, would be a good statement towards Poch, quality keeper.
I think it's unlikely Vorm would come as a number two. More likely Darlow from Forest. Another option might be Craig Gordon on a free, if he is over his injury problems he is a very capable back up keeper (might be a big if), he made the save voted best in EPL history.
