This.

Always the same with big deals when they get close. I said from the start Inter are difficult to deal with so didn't expect it to be smooth sailing.

Not worried at all as of right now.

The difference between this and skrinrar though, is time. With that deal Inter had the benefit of the transfer market closing so could try and get more money out of us with the deadline closing in (plus they didn’t need/want to sell). This time they don’t have that advantage, so in that regard, it should play into our hands.

Dragon 1 on Coys

As I said last week when discussing bastoni we were and are seriously looking at 4 center halves , do not be surprised if we buy at least 2

gio will only be sold or part exchanged once there is a value of 30 million met a swap may be the easiest way of accomplishing this

Good news about valuation for Gio. He was brilliant for Argentina against Italy last week. Really wouldn't be happy for him to leave for 20m euros as was reported last week.

Pau Torres is absolutely the one i dont want. I think hes a big downgrade personally and think hes nowhere near strong enough for this league.

With the ITK i guess its more about the GLC deal and the value of that on its own (ie they offering less that 20m) compared how attractive the Torres price is if we exchange (may mean a discount on the price rather than just his price- GLC price)
I dont want him for LCB but as a back up to Dier he would be a huge upgrade on Sanchez.

Bastoni to United rumors followed quickly by Torres to Spurs story…as the ITKs said all this points to Bastoni negotiations near close- Also , kind of says Inter certainly have a weaker hand given , stance is changing from Bastoni not for sale to , Bastoni also have another suitor…

Fully expecting Bastoni deal to be worked out by this international break and hopefully he does his medical before going to vacation
He's playing against Harry Kane at Molineux on Saturday...

Not enough links to quality midfielders. If we want to get real about contending for major trophies, this is the area in most urgent need of upgrading.

We had him during his peak years, which was also in a period of weak competition, and it still wasn't enough. He also plays in the hole, a position we haven't used under Conte.

Need an upgrade on Hojbjerg at the very least. We're not even going to come close to City if he's a starter in midfield.

Friendly piece of advice, take this to Spurs Chat. This thread is only for discussing ITK.

I made a thread for this exact purpose and it got deleted for some reason:

I don't see any other threads for discussing transfer targets this year.
You're new, so you may have missed them but there's at least one very big one in Spurs chat, regarding players, currently it's locked but have a read I'm sure there's many with similar opinions as you.

As others have said though, this is not the thread for it

Bastoni and Bremer play different positions. Bremer is a CCB to replace de Vrij, who's apparently now up for sale.

Whoever replaces Bastoni will be a cheaper recruit. Seen Senesi (Feyenoord) linked, and other names

Posted previously about the situation, based on an Inter fan's insights - so take it with a pinch of salt - but Bremer/Bastoni are not a one in one out trade

It's nothing to do with being a like-for-like replacement, it's to do with Inter needing the Bastoni funds to spend on Bremer.

Market isn't even open and we are moving, I prefer this than this all happening in late August as per usual. Just enjoying the ride so far and still bewildered we are doing early business

I genuinely don’t think we had a choice with Mr Conte at the helm - which is great.

Been trying to tell people similar but they won't have it, still let's see if we sign him or not

Not conflicting with WLB!
Just Inter being very opera-soap like. Nothing straight forward with them. Best way to put this. If you do a deal. Run for your life with your acquisition. Nothing is done with them, until it is too late to change.
Bastards to deal with but we are so confident we are going in very aggressive for him contes no 1 target

This is what I actually like about the Eriksen link. I think it gives us more tactical flexibility. He knows how to play the advanced role in a Conte 3-5-2. This could be a interesting tactical option we simply didn't have last season. Thinking back to the Brighton and Brentford games last season they really dominated us in midfield. I think having the Eriksen option (potentially moving Deki to RWB to accommodate this) would have given us more chance at pinning them back to the edge of their own area and getting us more chances. We actually had no shots on target in either game largely because we simply couldn't get into their final third consistently enough.

You can say we never used the position under Conte, but is that through choice or a lack of options in the current squad?

I think Eriksen gives us a ton of tactical options and is a genuine gamechanger off the bench too.
