On the Defoe to QPR ITK.

I think there could well be mileage in this. Defoe primarily needs game time in a World Cup year and he's not going to get it for Spurs. While I don't rate Defoe against good quality Premiership defences (his record is truly terrible in this respect) he will absolutely tear up the Championship. Also he knows Harry loves him.

As for Parker staying I agree with those who say that Hudd brings more to the party on the pitch. As an impact sub against tiring teams which give Hudd a bit more time on the ball he can be quite effective. As a starter though he is a liability. I suspect AVB prefering Parker is more for his off-field influence. Despite being a mercenary Parker has always been a very good team man, a hard worker and a good example to the younger players. I also doubt he'd be that bothered about not getting a lot of playing time. We have clearly reached the point where Hudd isn't going to get many games for us so moving on makes sense as he can still have a career elsewhere.

As for Disco Benny i'll also be sad when he leaves. There are few footballer's that I admire as human beings and BAE would be towards the front of that short list. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

LooksLikeModric. Don't think he's been verified, but JJ has confirmed his info about the goings on inside the club is very good.

I'm pretty sure the mods are waiting for his CRB check to come back.and he's still not passed a medical ;)
JJ vouched for him so he's not a WUM.

Thanks guys for the info

Let's hope he is right

Because these news keep worring me

From today's Guardian.. Defoe to WBA etc.

Staying in north London, and Jermain Defoe is wanted by West Bromwich Albion. The-striker-who-seems-to-score-a-lot-of-goals-but-people-still-say-is-a-bit-rubbish is open to the move given the arrival of Roberto Soldado to White Hart Lane. One man who does not appear to be on his way there, however, is the 18-year-old Real Betis winger Alvaro Vadillo. Apparently Spurs have been chasing Vadillo for some time and thought a deal was in place only to hear thatArsenal – yes, them again – are ready to make an offer themselves, with Vadillo more keen on a move to the Emirates.

btw. The Journalist might not be a journalist - But - I AM The Chosen One.

Firstly, you're not the chosen one you're a very naughty boy ;)

Secondly this goes contrary to the exact words JD said about the need to bring in striking reinforcements because "I can't do it all myself"

Its a good point regarding Defoe's potential playing time this season. The one thing you always here national managers saying regarding selection is that the player needs to be playing regularly.

So I guess the question is...is Defoe likely to be playing regularly for us this season? I'm not to sure unless Soldado picked up a serious injury. Defoe is likely to be bit part, a lot of sub appearances etc. Would that be enough to get him selected for the World Cup. Maybe, maybe not.

But can we pay it over five years, whilst paying no more than £2 this financial year ? ;)

Better than that we are using DFS (Daniel's financial Solutions) to arrange no interest for 5 years and nothing to pay for the first year.

That guy is class potentially he is, reality he isn't. Yet. Disappears in games he should dominate (for Denmark, anyway), and is on a free next season so maybe it's best to wait and see how he develops. Did well last season for Ajax though. The real star Dane at Ajax is Viktor Fischer....................................................................................................................................................... Erikson will not be on a free in a year as he has said that if he doesn't move this summer, he will sign a new contract at Ajax because he wants them to make some money from him leaving.

that's why i deleted my post, having read a bit more about his situation.

I believe AVB thought Luke Shaw would take time to adjust to the huge attacking/ defending responsibilities a full back must be capable of for the 4-3-3. I can see Southampton taking nothing less than £8 million plus ridiculous future incentives which they'd be unwilling to sell (Bale was a hard lesson for them there) as they are no longer in financial trouble! That sort of fee for a player you would think should be paid for someone who'll start week in/ week out not so we have to wait another year or two till he's ready! I also believe we're being hesitant in bringing in a new LB because CB is the priority plus I believe someone said there are no offers for BAE! We don't want either Coentrao or Shaw + Rose + BAE on our books!

IMO. I think Shaw would cost at least 15mil, but i would still prefer him to any other L/B including Coentrao, he is a very good player now, and has huge potential, plus he is 7 years younger than Coentrao, and would count towards our english quota, i think S/Hampton were after Naughton, prehaps we can do a player plus cash offer

It's stamp time!

I don't think we can underestimate how brilliant it is to now have a top top striker on board!

Where does that leave Crackers info ?

Nowhere. Medicals are done over 2 days, first day would have highlighted a past issue - I read it as a meniscal laceration - and then the 2nd day would have explored it and cleared it.

He had a knee injury at some point, this is a very common one. It was never said that the deal would break down over it.

Playing in the Championship will almost certainly mean that he will not make it to the World Cup team by its very nature. I think judging by interviews he is happy to stay with us, and I am happy for him to stay, after all he can be very dangerous as an impact sub. Also right now he is in the England team and out of the players competing for the striker position only Sturridge and Carroll (I guess) will be starters, Defoe should be able to show himself good enough for the England team this year. If he does leave, however, I am sure many PL teams will take him. West Brom have been linked for example, which sounds a much better option than QPR if he wants to make the England team.

that would be a good idea but these player plus cash deals are so complicated idk why! It took Man U days to complete the Zaha signing and then just loan him back to Crystal Palace, it was the same with Stoke and Butland! These deals are so rare nowadays in the higher tiers of football because for whatever reason they're just too complicated and fiddly! Anyways we wouldn't use Naughton as part of the deal because that only leaves us w/ Walker at RB, Smith is on loan and it sounds like its gonna be a lengthy struggle getting Kaboul playing at his best again at CB let alone RB!
