Didn't stop him signing a new 5 year contract though did it.

But why would it stop him?, would you not sign on if a team was throwing a contract up for more money if it was offered to you, and also why would it make a difference, football players are loyal to themselves we know that so I don't get why this is such an issue?

It's not an issue, but I was replying to your post saying he was treated disgracefully. I'm not having a go at him, I'm saying if he felt he was being treated badly by the fans, and the club(as suggested in other posts) then why sign a new deal? He could have gone elsewhere easily enough if he felt that way.

I don't have any inside knowledge but:

- I don't think Rose will think he's been treated badly by the club, he's been developed into a first-choice full-back and kept his place even after we brought in Davies. He's improving all the time and earned a big new contract as a result;
- I'm not sure he will care about the way SOME fans may have treated him. All players know the score, if their form is rubbish, fans get on their backs, if they are good, they become heroes. Rose copped some flak, as did many last season. This season he's been rightly praised;

I think if Danny is unsettled, it will only be because someone else such as City has come in with a bigger offer, nothing else.

I'm comfortable with the situation though, he's on a big contract and we'd get a fortune from anyone wanting to buy him. In the meantime, Davies showed he had the potential at Swansea and given an extended run could easily develop to the same level as Rose, so we've got this situation covered in most directions whatever happens.

Looking at the ITK thread, I am surprised to see us still linked with Ings and Schneiderlin. Both players appear destined for elsewhere. Ings to LFC. Schneiderlin to a CL club. He was quite categorical about that.

I would be quite disappointed if we haven't initiated plan b in both these respects. Keeping Bentaleb being huge too. He's performing at a higher level than Schneiderlin was at 20.

I suspect there is a 'Spurs premium' at Saints, we have nicked Hoddle, Richards (RIP), Mitchell, Poch, their feelings towards us are i imagine similar with us and Chelsea, i bet they end up selling MS for less than we offered

Hertyid posted earlier today on COYS with a post simply referring to a Guardian article on Charlie Austin wanting to leave for a EPL club. Just the article no qualifying comment from HY?

I wonder whether Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be the alternative to Schneiderlin. See info in player thread. How do you pronounce his name anyway?

Won't be us

He is good at his job but the polar opposite to the system Poch plays

Storts(who nailed Remy to Chavs waaay before it was mentioned anywhere else) said he had heard they were very interested in Austin about a week or so back.

Is like "Hoybyerg," with the second "y" somewhat silent/segued with the "e."

The story was about him joining Saints as he's a fan.
