We are capable of paying just enough to keep a select few top players here, but I’m not convinced we’ll pay those wages to incoming players.

I’m not criticising the wages we pay - we are sensible about it and Levy does a good job.

My view is that we shouldn’t be selling Toby to a rival here unless we can use the money to bring in a bona fide world class player.

Only issue with cryptics like this, is why Ligt or why Toby? We have known for a while that we have been in for Ligt and that Man United are interested in Toby. The Cryptic, IF for either of those just confirms what we know.
