Don't think it's worthy of it's own thread, but nwyiddo on SO regarding Ozil :



It's had a "mixed" reaction over there.

Oezil's contract runs out this year. And Werder might "want" to get his contract renewed, but the issue is Oezil wants "a shit load of euros"

This doesn't mean he's coming to us. More likely Werder will get their last year with him to bring Marin through as his replacement and Oezil will sign a pre in January with Madrid. That's just a guess though.

But German clubs don't need to sell, so Werder is better off with Oezil one more year than they are with 15 million. Especially as the CL money and the probability of returning next year with him at the helm outweigh the transfer.

I wonder if Barca might move for him now that Fabregas is staying. I know he'll probably arrive next season anyway, but it wouldn't surprise me.

The Oezil situation is like the Fabiano one, until they sign a new contract a big offer is always going to take some turning down.
