Waiting for the best ITK out there. POTL - he is very, very quiet
POTL:

Hello All,

Been a while hasn't it? Apologies.

I believe last time I posted was saying goodbye to pienaar and hello to Ade, 1 has happened, 1 was done but we have had some hold ups- have posted before on the complexities of a transfer. Ade still massively ongoing and confident of completion.

In other news today is a big day at the lodge. Players are being told today who is staying and who will be told that they are free to find new clubs or loans. Andre gave everybody the opportunity to prove themselves in his first month in charge as has been reflected in the number of participents in friendlies. Now we are back in the UK, expect movement from here on in. Haven't seen the forum board so can't comment on any speculation.

In terms of JJ being hopeful of landing one of our targets this week, I would assume he's referring to Adebayor.

Interesting from POTL.

A few players definitely didn't do themselves justice in the friendly matches but i'm sure AVB would have assessed the squad in training as well.

Even though players like JJ and Bentley were written off by Redknapp thet could quite conceivably be part of AVB's plans.

...and the wailing and gnashing of teeth if we don't sign Leandro, Adebayor, Falcao and Eusebio and Jesus by August 31st will be too much to bear.
The Jesus deal was dead but has been resurrected. A lot of hanging around. Injuries to hands and feet (Charlie Adam) but they've healed up nicely and he's at Spurs Lodge this evening for a medical. You read it here first. Can't reveal my sources.

So who is staying and going then?

Personally think Bentley and Jenas showed they aren't good enough in the matches at least. Potentially Gallas and Defoe leaving but not sure.

Naughton i think will stay and will play the Europa League games, unless someone comes in for him as he performed very well last year for Norwich.

Townsend/Smith i think will either stay or be loaned to a prem club.

Sorry mate, I probably didn't word that well - hadn't had my Monday morning coffee. I was just surprised when you were quite forthright about the big deal that fell through a week or so back - it wasn't like you to put your neck on the line about something so early and end up disappointed - your information has been without question the most reliable around for some time, and I appreciate it. I wasn't suggesting you don't post info early in deals, I was just saying I hope you're being careful and not getting in too early on a gut feeling or a maybe, as some in here hang on your every word, and the wailing and gnashing of teeth if we don't sign Leandro, Adebayor, Falcao and Eusebio and Jesus by August 31st will be too much to bear.
Don't stop doing what you're doing mate, I was just saying I hope you're not feeling the pressure to perform, and abandoning the checks and balances you've always applied to ensure you get the best info.
Keep it up my friend.
Snivelling worm.

Potentially world class. He has been doing very well. Looks a genuine goal scorer. A proper CF. Much more so than Ade.
I said it countless times lastyear. Ade drifting all over the field annoyed the tits of me. He scored a fair few goals, missed a fair few more and played well. But if we had a proper CF, leading the line, being the focal points of our attacks and actually being in the box when Bale is whipping in crosses, that CF would have scored a hell of a lot more OMHO.

Llorente was the one I wanted for ages, but I have been won over by Damiao. He was impressive last season in those preseason games against Barcelona and Milan, and has been very impressive in the Olympics. I know we are only talking 6 games, but its enough for me. In those 6 games I think he has scored 6 goals. £20m looks a bit of a steal infact. Hope we can get it done.

Ryan, after filling us full of hope, marks this post as optimistic? Which part exactly buddy? or was this another example of the fat fingered rating system? :)

My only concern is that his first home game is going to be a real baptism of fire and if he doesn't convert a few the crowd will really crucify him!

I'll get my coat.................

Ok, being patient etc, waiting for more ITK but am concerned that the season is a couple of weeks ago and the only striker we have is Defoe- and i would rather he was replaced.

We need two top class strikers- with them we will be real threat with them but without them I can't see us as top 4.

Id say that some players got more minutes in order to prove their worth, not because they were certainly in the managers long term plans
