Sorry mate but you're completely wrong there.

Teams can absolutely buy/sell players in advance and it happens all the time. They sign all the same paperwork as you do for a normal transfer but you just put the date in as the first day of the next transfer window (or whatever it may be). For example, we did that when we signed Modric. We signed all the paperwork in the spring some time I believe and then he came in the summer.

As for bosman, you're also not quite right. They can sign a pre-contract with another club 6 months before the end of their current deal (whether that be January or otherwise) but that only applies to FOREIGN clubs i.e. City cannot sign a pre-contract with Sanchez at the moment, but someone like Bayern could. A club in the same league can only sign a pre-contract with the player 1 month before the end of their contract.

i wasn’t saying it should only be about January! I was saying I thought it should only be about “transfers”. This is why we have two of these a year, one in the January transfer window and one in the summer window. So that’s why I was saying if it’s sponsorship info, does it really belong in here? Now I was also saying if it’s info about something that might happen in the summer transfer window, it’s not that exciting for me as there is a long long way to the next window ( look at Barkley). And I would doubt these days if anyone could speculate about that, I doubt even the player could.
But on the other hand, yes I get it there is nothing going on this window so people are willing to chat about any news, even remotely related so they have something to talk about. I’ll still check the updates just in case, but don’t worry I won’t comment again. Was just trying to clarify the rules around ITK info regarding transfers, but nobody did. But thanks for getting back to me with your helpful advice.

Not true at all.

Clubs may well unofficially agree stuff with players off the record but they absolutely cannot sign any kind of legally binding contract or pre-contract with a player from the same division. Bayern, for example, are clearly after Goretzka and keep talking about him in the press, and I'm sure they've met "unofficially" with his representatives to discuss whether he's interested, what kind of contract he'd expect etc. but they absolutely cannot under any circumstances sign a contract with him, unless of course they agree a fee with Schalke etc. first but then it's not a bosman. You can say "well it won't stop Bayern" etc. all you like but that's just nonsense to be honest. Name me a single time when that has happened. Unofficially "agreeing" things with a player's representatives is not the same thing as signing a pre-contract which is legally binding.

I'm not naive enough to think that no rule-breaking occurs behind the scenes, let's be honest, every single transfer of any player involves at least some level of "tapping up", but there's no way the clubs sign a legal document like a pre-contract when it's against the rules because it would essentially be like signing a confession that you've broken the rules. It's like taking a time-stamped photo of yourself robbing a bank or something.

Is it possible that the staff saw Aurier as the incoming pace? I do think a fast winger with a bunch of tricks would be good to have but I think Son brings a lot of that already. The pace in our squad last year came from the fullbacks and it just seems like we haven't had as much of that.
