ITK is good for a giggle.

Love the Ben and Bobby stories about Modric! Entertaining stuff.

Forward/Offensive midfielder.

Don't think that spanish teams can sign players under 18 (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please) so we could easily get him at 16 if we'd offer him a good enough deal (just like Arse did with Cesc).

Edit:

adiepf: You're right, he's born in '92.
So we have been looking at two young boys - this lad and the mexican that failed medical?
Guiseppe must be the main target.
I like llorente too...

Last summer's primary target: Fabiano

This summer's: Rossi

They don't seem the most obvious choices, do they?

I'd be somewhat satisfied if we signed Rossi as he's way better than what we've got, and maybe he could work out as a lone forward (basically what we tried to do with Defoe but with good movement, pace, and more clinical finishing), but it'd be a bit odd if he was our one main striking signing (assuming he would come).

Rossi + one of Llorente/Berbs/Vucinic though? Yes Please!

The Modric stuff makes what we should be doing pretty clear. Spend big this window in the hopes of making a title run or at least clinching top four this season while we still have all our best players. Then in January if we're not up there challenging, we can sell Modric to balance the books (and save face by delaying sale). If we do have a good run and finish in the top 4 at least, then we'll pay it off by being in the champ's league the next season and hopefully Modric will decide to stick with it, and if not at least we'll be able to bring in a decent replacement.

most interesting ITK of the window is King doing pre-pre-season training? ROssi, modric, leandro, blae, Drogba... will all pail compared to the prospect of Ledley king managing to play a larger role this season. King plays 65% of our league games we'll be top 4 regardless of us getting a new striker or not.

Exciting times for tRiKS

Btw just thought of another loose possibility for the "raised by a cretin" cryptic: Aguero. Wasn't exactly raised by him but his father-in-law is Maradona.

I thought the same thing, especially because I thought he said as COME to fruition, then went back to and saw it was comes...but really, comes would still work if it was two as well, as POTL is referring to signing blue and yellow as an event, rather than a person.

I thought blue + yellow was decided to be green, and therfore hulk !?!

Should we run the risk of battling it out with Arsenal and Liverpool and see our other more important targets for key areas drift away?

I agree that we should add players of exceptional quality should they become available.

For me Mata does not play in a position we're desperately in need for.

Id like to see N'Zogbia, not top top tip top top triffic but would directly compete with Lennon and provide excellent cover on the left when Bale inevitabley gets injured.

Wouldn't cost £25million either.

I wonder, do you think it would be worth it for Arsenal to force him to see out his contract.

They have a shot of winning something this season, especially if they buy big. If they win something they could then get him to sign a new contract?
