The richest club in the league though, and they've only managed to sign that one player by taking over a year to do so. That should be a hint as to how difficult it is. Plenty of people have been excessively negative since the window opened, and the damn thing still hasn't closed.

To be fair it's hard to stay positive the way this window has panned out. You have rare powers of positivity my friend, just be glad you aren't somewhat broken like the rest of us.

Yea but that was when we thought Villa was selling him. The thought was if he didn’t have his physically with us by today he wouldn’t wait around for us and would go to a different Prem team.

They are still selling him, they just want more.

That would apply to anyone else.

Basically no fee has been agreed, and we'll probably not go any higher.

Because they don't need any signings.

If - as you seem - you are prepared to believe it when the ITKs tell us that we are in for Grealish, why don't you believe today's ITK that we didn't 'screw it up' at all? That while the change of ownership was being negotiated the incumbents wanted a moratorium on selling players, and are now refusing to honour an agreement that they had with the player to sell him for 25m.

You can't have it both ways.

I'm not saying I do or don't believe it, but I think if it were a significant obstacle it's likely that we would have heard about it at the time rather than right now. Just think about it - you're saying their previous owners (the incumbents) wanted a moratorium on selling players, but simultaneously agreed to sell us Grealish for 25 million knowing that they couldn't honor it, and we took that as an agreement that the new owners were bound by? Sorry makes no sense.

Also given that it's my own speculation, I can have it any way I like, thank you very much! ;)

The fires of disgruntled fans will be burning brightly at WHL.

Meh, fuck it - bring through the youth players.

Edmonton on COYS has just made such a telling comment, that this was our chance to bury the other clubs below us in the Europa league forever, yet we decided to sleep through it.

Just disappointing all round really, even more so when the ITK’s closest to the ball so to speak are feeling negative vibes about it all :(
If I remember correctly from my brief, pre-banned time on COYS, Edmonton is/was ITK concerning the stadium, not regarding transfers. So his opinion about them (and whether we have 'slept') is about as informed as yours or mine.

Our chairman doesn't take financial risks. Simple as that. We could spend £40-50 million net and make that back if we retain our place in the Champions League. But there's no guarantee so he keeps the money in his pocket and right now it seems to be working. Any expenditure over sales is kept to a minimum. We get significant revenue from the Premier League so falling behind the elite clubs has a lower impact.

Check the amount we've actually spent over the last ten years after sales and you will wonder where all the money has gone.

I think I just have a decent memory, and I'm haunted by having distant wet dreams about us getting to where we are now. It might be different for those who have the Sugar years bookended by the team of the 80's, but for me I can only look back at how far we've come despite having at least 5 other clubs with significant financial advantages competing with us.

I get what he’s trying to say and to an extent I agree that (if the Window shut now) we have missed an opportunity but to think we could have buried Chelsea and Arsenal is a little naive!

Or City are that good already maybe?

Kane - Aguero/Jesus
Eriksen/Son/Dele - D silva/KDB/ B Silva/Maherz/Sterling/Sane
etc etc

They hardly needed to buy.

Our squad on the other hand doesn't come close to City's

But back on topic.

There is simply NO ITK - so there can't be anything more to be said.

Hummmmpphffffffff :depressed:
