Agree, there were questions about whether Adebayor would buy into Pochettino's ideas but the latest quotes from him are very encouraging. On his day he's a class above Bony or Lukaku. I hope he continues to display the ability he showed under Sherwood.

There's also much more to come from Soldado.

Adebayor pretty much has it all as a striker - except his attitude. I see the next month as crucial for Poch and Ade to see how they get on - if they do we have a top class striker.

Doesn't matter who we buy, no one is guaranteed to be a success unless we get a player like Falcao.

We should just give these guys (Soldado, Ade, Kane) a full pre season and let them prove to us what they're worth. I like the idea that they're all different and can bring something different to the team.
This. Maybe if we've got all other positions sorted and there is some cash left over I wouldn't mind a young versatile forward with some blistering pace, but apart from that we're fine upfront as long as Ade is on board.

We don't need..... Well we do need a new striker but the thing is do we sign a striker and hope he's the bollocks or do we play ade knowing that for 12/13 games a season he will be useless but in the rest he'll put in a shift and score 18+ goals?
We might end up paying £26m for a proven striker who only scores 2 goals from open play and end up having to bring ade back in the team anyway.... Oh wait a minute

P.s I actually like Soldado so don't have a pop for once please (y)

If they all stayed fit, then yeah, maybe, but what happens if Ade gets injured? I'd like to see another strong option next to Soldado if that was to happen tbh.

RE:Bony agent in Liverpool - more likely at Everton than LFC, I'd've thought.

Just something i've noticed, whenever i see random neg reps for posts that don't necessarily deserve it in here, it's usually from inactive posters with low post counts...it's never personally happened to me, but isn't there a way to limit ratings for new posters, or access in here?

Anyway, i'll av some of Schneiderz

Name me a striker of some distinction that hasn't got an "attitude"?

I get fed up with people saying that certain players have an "attitude" when it's fucking obvious they do. Best, Law, Keegan, Dalglish, Drogba, Torres, Henry, Berbatov, i mean the list is endless. Flawed geniuses for the most part but Clubs are paying for their ability to score goals and not to present the merits of growing the latest hybrid garden Rose at a local WI convention.

I just don't see the point of having a player who is playing week in week out on the bench just in case of an injury, If we're gonna have a player as good as Bony and sign him for £16m and give him high wages then he needs to be starting regularly. I just don't see is as an area that needs strengthening.

Also if we're not willing to put some faith into Harry Kane then there's no point of him being here, he stepped up last season and is good enough to be 3rd choice for us.

I'm expecting Bony to go to Southampton tbh. Be a decent signing with the Lallana money.

Striker is the third last position we should be messing with, after GK and RB. We are sorted up front.

I'm absolutely delighted that we aren't getting Bony.

I have to disagree with you mate. Ade will only play for about half the season, the other half he will be abysmal.

I'd take another fourteen goals in twenty four games, and so would any side wanting CL football next season.
