He's a good player it's just hard to see us spending money on any position except defence until we get some funds in from sales.

I’m not so sure- we’re also apparently serious about Pjanic, so it’s a type of player- technically assured, good passer- in a type of position we’re giving serious consideration to

French clubs are having fire sales this summer after the TV deal collapsed so it may not necessarily be that expensive a signing - certainly not as expensive as it would've been last summer.

I must admit, I haven't seen much of Aouar. I know he has been one of the more talked about players in terms of transfers. Looks like he has got two years left on his deal, which probably makes a sale more likely. Most of all I like that Arsenal have been coveting this guy for two years, so snatching him from under them would be doubly sweet.

Definitely bargains to he had over there alright it's just can only see us spending on defence before we recoup from sales as money is so tight.

this is exactly the type of player we should be targeting. trim the squad whilst increasing the quality. fund it with 2-3 players out if need be.

Hopefully people are going with a "that'll be decent if it happens, but let's see how it goes" type of mentality, and not the "I've already tattooed their names on my johnson and I'll be furious if we don't sign them" thing that went on in the manager thread.

It seems like Paratici is renown for lining up several options at once, so there's a risk we're not going to go for everyone we're talking to.

Aouar and Lacroix would be a close to perfect start to our rebuild. Get them in, Sissoko, Sanchez, Winks, Lamela out in addition to Foyth and Rose already gone and that is a huge upgrade in quality as well as trimming the fat. Quality not quantity should be the aim for our squad going into the season. The quantity should come from our youth teams

Which is exactly why it won't happen

Aouar’s numbers from this Ligue 1 season looks good: 7 goals and 3 assists from 23 starts and 7 subs. WhoScored.com lists his strengths as finishing, dribbling and key passes and holding on the the ball while his weaknesses is crossing, defensive contribution and tackling.

We could use someone that can provide some numbers from midfield so I would welcome him with both arms.

Got to AO then ran out of space :cautious:. At least I can say it is sponsorship for a website.

Salt as always required but hopefully a good sign of things to come.

Nice update from Herc - exactly the type of player I'd like us to sign. I'm off to the player thread to discuss further.

(Very surprised some people are risking their access to make snide comments about Levy or debating the DoF structure in the ITK thread. A few people above might want to delete their posts before A&C gets the lid of his ban stick lube)

It's something you have to get used to on most message boards. So many people just waiting for Spurs to fail so they can have yet another go at Levy. This signing would literally shut them up so they don't actually want it to happen. What a tidy midfielder.
