Surely Levy has to answer to shareholders, rather than just Joe Lewis? That tends to be how clubs (PLCs) are run? But if a Chairman wants to sack a manager, he will...
The shareholders are Levy and Lewis. As I said earlier, the only reason Lewis would get involved is if there was a major transaction taking place - slae of Spurs or ENIC, or just perhaps a very big licensing deal?

We aren't a PLC any more are we? We were delisted. ENIC owns the majority share of THFC, and Joe Lewis owns the majority of ENIC. Ergo Joe is the law.

Ah, yes. You are right! From what I can gather though Joe has very little input into how the club is run and let's Levy get on with it.

I don't recall Lewis getting involved when we sacked all the other managers we've had, for example... no one said "We can't sack Hoddle.... Joe Lewis won't let Levy do it!" or whatever.

Is Kemsley the key?

Harry's best mate, lobbied for years for Harry, owns a racehorse with him

Likewise Lewis bankrolled Kemsley's career and they are close so wondering whether Kemsley has something on Lewis and is forcing him to keep Harry

Really haven't a clue what to make of the Goat's last post. Could mean one of two things.

So can we assume from this batch of information that we will shortly be announcing a contract extension for Harry in the very near future?

Seems it's also on favourable terms for Harry so would this be the deal that was put on the table a few months back?

Cheers for the info JJ. Although I'm not entirely sure where you are coming from by saying Levy's hands are tied, I think it's great news that Harry will be staying.

I still find it hard to believe why so many on here want him gone? To me he has done a great job since coming in, not only have our League performances improved but for me we are playing the most enjoyable football to watch since I have supported Spurs (25years or so).

We are finally competing with the so called top 4/5 and hopefully with a good summer in the transfer market we will again be in the mix at the right end of the table.

I don't think this is the case according to the latest info, as neither Lewis or levy are happy with him. To me it just sounds like a simple compensation issue and Lewis doesn't want to pay it

Really? Hmmm. I always assumed Levy was left to run the club, that's kind of the impression given in the past anyway.

Can't recall any other situation where someone said "Levy can't sack... Ramos (for example) cos Lewis won't have it!"

I am a Harry neutral, find him brilliant and infuriating with equal measures am not fussed if he stays or if he goes just want the whole thing sorted so that the important thing, player recruitment, can be got on with as this tug of war has to be a major distraction there

Unless of course they are honour and legally bound to offer the same contract that was on offer during the England speculation
