Then we'll just go with Defoe, and assume AVB has the tactical nous and flexibility to play a system that maximises his strengths and minimises his weaknesses. Or would you rather we signed any old donkey?

Spot on mate. AVB, although he is well known for his fabled, "system", I am sure he is a good enough manager to be able to muddle through with the players he has and adopt different tactics accordingly. We have one of "the best young managers" in the game. I would be thoroughly dissapointed if all he brought to the table was his system that only works with certain players.

Have faith that he has enough mangerial skills to work through these first few games and get as much as he can untill he gets what he wants from DL and really starts to sprinkle the fairy dust!

Probably, but if there's a chance of its being Llorente I'd prefer we pursued it as long as possible as long as there's a Plan B.

We could have sorted out strikers long ago, and the same people who accuse Levy of 'penny-pinching' would be complaining about his 'lack of ambition'.

I think JJ's been pretty consistent with his stance regarding Llorente. I just can't see us signing him.
