Doesn't mean a deal isn't possible, just means very hard. And if it is Rabiot that JJ is suggesting, that again would suggest whilst still hard we feel more confident than did before when he dismissed it.

It was the same with Martial, ITK confirmed we were confident of a deal but Monaco didn't want to sell and surprise surprise that didn't come to fruition. PSG on the other hand are one of the richest clubs in world football and there's diddly squat that we can do to make them want to sell one of their promising young stars.

Except it has been confirmed as Rabiot and PSG don't want to sell = more disappointment.

Pretty sure that Rabiot's mum (seriously, she is involved with his management and she sort of comes off as ruthless in the papers) stated that they would like to move somewhere that he can get as much playing time as possible and that they weren't sure that was at PSG.

So while it is unlikely that we could pry Rabiot away if PSG is determined to keep him he could also get into a situation where he is forcing his way out.

All of it is unlikely but there would still be a chance.

I remember reading a report where Rabiot said he wanted to leave but PSG said no chance... I just don't see how we could possibly convince them otherwise.

But you're just striking it out because it's difficult, even though not dead in the water. Clubs have sold even when not wanted to. But back to your original point that not going to plan, this situation with Rabiot or at least the dismissed midfielder (if not Rabiot) would suggest it is going to plan or even bit better than expected.

He might not be the shiny new signing everyone is craving but Pritchard is the real deal and he'll prove that this coming season.

Irrelevant as their squads are way better than ours and only require 1 may be 2 additions. Man U (Depay, MS to follow?), Arsenal (Cech, Vidal to follow?).

I note you say ( 'XX to follow ?).

and that's the same as Spurs, we can guess who XX is but its very much a question mark for them as it is.

And Liverpool are just spending the Sterling money - as they did the Suarez money last year (and we did the bale money 2 years ago) . Liverpool also need to sell their last season errors too

All just talk and rumour though isn't it.
SSN are trying to boost their profits via Sky Bet by providing bull-shit stories, which results in people betting on the deals going through.
Even the woman that's doing the transfer rumour for SSN has tweeted today that United made bid for MS last week that was rejected, and that they haven't gone back with a new offer.

Maybe but a few days ago his Mum launched another onslaught on PSG. Hell hath no fury...... Wouldn't want to be the PSG Chairman talking to her right now

Martial ITK seems depressing.

Everything might be going to plan - of course, that plan might be the old ambitious signings imminent > moved goalposts > last minute issues cause deal to go south > blame the agents > Moutinho hokey cokey > lessons have been learned, big investment next window type of plan. Thankfully its too early to say at the moment.

Confirmed by ITK from Jasper.

Meanwhile JJ has said today that our transfers are going to plan, that Poch remains hopeful of getting the players he wants, that DL is backing the manager and that our targets aren't who people think they are.

You seem to be willing to accept Jasper's info as fact yet you completely dismiss/ignore what JJ is saying. Why is that?

if psg dont want to sell rabio, only loan the fooker, why do we think they can be persuded otherwise? if he stamps his feet as the window begins to close the qataris wont give a fook.

apart from giving them first dibs on hugo, should sorry when we dont top 4 next summer the only other game changers could be

silly money - but theyve got it and we aint
they buy one or two more in his position and think, ah, fook it, lets just do it to get shot of the bald basturd.

feels to me like we are sleep walking into yet more disappointment.

If you don't expect you wont be disappointed.

Just trying to read the tea leaves so to speak, but I suspect we had a plan at the end of the season. Since then a few opportunities opened up that we explored - Martial, Alderweireld - but they did not work out. MS is one of those guys I think we knew we were not likely to get, but have kept an eye on anyways. So now we are left with our original plan, and that seems to be progressing in due time.

Admittedly I am an eternal optimist, but I read JJs tweets as "Keep Calm and COYS"
