I'm more disappointed with the outgoings situation to be honest, wanted to clear house ready for the summer. Incomings we have to trust Poch. If Poch is playing the long game to get the team he wants for next season then I'm happy for him to take the risk as I think top four is all but secured.

Odd situation. Not big enough to keep players from being poached away by the big dogs, but too big of a threat to the big dogs for them to sell to us.
Also, we're now at a level up from the type of player we used to sign but we evidently don't have the money for the type of player we now need to sign.

Feels like half the squad are at the hospital, barely just recoverd or carrying small injuries. And we let players leave without bolstering the squad. Unbelivable.

It’s obviously not all doom and gloom, as somehow we are in 3rd and we have a very good 1st 11 and manager. But its not a perfect 11 by any means, with major weaknesses at full back and CM as well as poor back up for certain positions. We have also been dumped out of both ‘winnable’ trophies purely, in my opinion, because of squad depth.

I’m not sure how anyone can be happy that we have gone two transfer windows without strengthening our squad when we are very close to something special and others around us have invested and improved (Liverpool) and overtaken us.

I think it is negligent and unambitious, there is obviously a way of staying true to your loyal players, bringing youth through and supplementing them with quality signings.

All in all I’m very disappointed.

But we have a squad and manager that deserve our support even if they haven’t had it in the form of squad strengthening. So what’s done is done I guess, and we need to get behind them (even Trippier) and drive them on until the end of the season. When we have another chance to make some signings. I mean, we won’t. But there’s still another chance.

I think that by and large we probably all knew that this was the way that it would end up in this window. I think that people will rightfully be expecting that Poch, Levy and the scouts will be working closely to ensure that targets are identified and signings made early in the summer. Obviously hopefully also the youngsters out on loan will be successful so that there is the chance of one or two making the step up as well.
