Quite excited by the idea of turning to a highly rated emerging centre back in the Championship instead of an expensive import. With the amount of games we’re facing and the fact that nobody else in the league seems interested in defending right now, it’s a good time to groom an emerging talent imo.

Would be great to see us snag a couple of Championship talents for cheap, even with loan-backs this season. I’m less convinced on the CH, not sure there’s anyone in that league that is definitely, indisputably better than Tanganga, and that’s who will miss out on minutes if we go that route. But maybe if we are thinking about playing a back 3 more often, there will be more minutes to go around.

This is the first time in a while I'm looking forward to reading the Transfer Window 'Post-Mortem' thread without a sense of anger and/or dread. I'm genuinely happy with how this has gone, CB or not.

Think the last time I felt like this was when we bagged VDV at the last second.

Why would we bother perusing a championship CB today when we have more time to do it? Unless........ We are seeing if we can get a more attractive deal giving us time to go back in for Skriniar if it doesn't work?!

Registration of our Europa League squad needs to be done imminently. That’s why they’d want to accelerate it I imagine.
