Why not? If he doesn’t get sold, and he’s still keen to come to us, I’d imagine it’s something Levy might be working onAs the window is still open for the rest of Europe I wonder if we are taking the opportunity to continue to work with a Dybala on his image rights issues in hope #optimism
Unravelling the image rights issues could require a lot of time & expensive legal work, so I expect we'd only continue to pursue it if we have some sort of commitment from Juve & Dybala to the move going ahead in January pending resolution of the IR. Without some form of binding agreement, we could end up spending time and money sorting out the issues only for that to then benefit another team further down the line.As the window is still open for the rest of Europe I wonder if we are taking the opportunity to continue to work with a Dybala on his image rights issues in hope #optimism
Not expecting a reply Trix, but to commit to moving overseas for the next 3/4/5 years and telling this to your family must be a major decision - excitement etc. This is really where players are treated like commodities. Then for it to fall through at the last moment..
Deals fall apart for all different reasons(a final bid we know is too low for instance). I'm quite sure none of the players are actually told it was because they were only a back up option.
Yeah, boiWhen BF is ur club's fallback option, ur going in the right direction.
BF was always the fallback option nothing more nothing less! Medical was booked but as soon as Lo Celso fee was agreed BF became irrelevant.
Really interesting bit of information. Makes complete sense now to think of it. Keeps the our reputation intact, sort of..

I guess we could have got BF after Dybala fell through. We must have had the money if we could afford Dybala. Although I'm still hoping Eriksen stays and signs a new deal as I'd much rather have him than BF.
Howabout the 10 or 11 millions Dembele brought us?

I was about to give you a winners rating for this until you mentioned getting rid of Lamela. He is detriment to our squad depth and quality and still has alot to offer despite injury issues. He will also be less pressured with the arrival of Ndombele and LoCelso. We need him. I hope it was a typoTransfer Window and Summer Overall Rating: 7.5/10
The Good
The Bad
- Infusion of Youth: Our once young and vibrant squad aged and stagnated during our transfer window inactivity over the past 18 months. We have added Lo Celso (23), NDombele (22), Sessegnon (19), Clarke (18), the preseason academy standouts Parrott (17), Skipp (18), Tanganga (20), and Foyth (21) and KWP (22) should move up from bit part players last season to regular first-teamers. All those additions are a solid youth core to build around for the coming years.
- Two Record Transfers: Buying two players as highly-rated as NDombele and Lo Celso for a combined £110m is incredible and shows Spurs are willing to play in a different financial class.
- Rebuilt Midfield: Our midfield was easily our weakest link last year. Now we can trot out Winks, NDombele, and Lo Celso with Dier, Sissoko, Skipp, and Wanyama backing them up. Lamela and Dele can play #10 our tip of the diamond as well. Miles better.
- Depth: Not perfect, but so much improved with the signings and internal player development.
- No Stadium Handicap: Considering we were willing to buy Dybala on top of our current business, it seems the stadium might not hamper us too much in regards to spending.
The Ugly
- Right Back: It is what it is, we have three of them but none of them is great. Cross your fingers and hope one of Aurier, Foyth, and KWP goes out and makes the job their own.
- One More Signing: Getting one Dybala, Coutinho, or Fernandes would have tipped this window into the 9.5 or 10 range. Plus it’s super frustrating that we seemingly came so close with Dybala, but nothing is ever perfect.
- Future CB Issues: Toby seems off next summer and Vertonghen will be 33 by the end of the season, with his contract also expiring. Will almost certainly be our #1 area of focus next summer with RB.
- Deadwood: More of a mixed bag here, good work to get Trippier and Janssen out for good fees but frustrating that we still have GKN, Wanyama, and Aurier when it seems like the club was trying to shift them.
- Not on the level of Liverpool and City: Not that I expected us to catch up in one window, but I think we’re still a tier below the top two.
Looking Ahead to 2020
- Eriksen: Annoying that it is still unresolved and the options of selling him now at a cut rate or him leaving next summer on a free are both pretty unappealing.
- 2018 Summer: Ultimately, this summer we were still haunted by doing nothing last summer. We had too much deadwood shift and too many areas to address to get it all done in one summer. If we had just made 1 or 2 signings last summer, our squad would look much younger and better rounded. I think if Poch had his druthers Rose, Toby, and maybe others would be gone with younger replacements in place but it was just too much to get done.
The goal once again should be to get younger. Next year’s starting backline will still be quite old and there’s numerous squad players who can be replaced with younger alternatives.
2020 Potential Outgoings and Replacements
Can see Lamela and Sissoko being controversial, but think that given their age it would make sense to cash in on them and invest in younger players for depth roles.
- Alderweireld (Free) --> Big CB signing (50m)
- Rose (15m) --> Sessegnon becomes first choice
- Aurier (15m) --> Big RB signing (35m)
- Lamela (20m) --> Clarke takes squad place
- Wanyama (10m) --> Skipp takes squad place
- Sissoko (25m) --> Young depth CM replacement (30m)
- GKN (5m)

Fair enoughHope he goes out this season and blows away the league though, not a talent problem for me just can’t be trusted to stay healthy
Shows faith in him and a big thank you too.Lucas Moura new contract to 2024, from

Although - and not aimed directly at you - players are, effectively, commodities within the multi-billion pound business of football. From what I understand from a couple of folk that are deep within the football industry, they talk about ‘the business’. It is a sad fact; but, arguably, no different to employees at huge corporations being dropped like hot potatoes if they don’t perform - there’s always another individual willing & eager to step into their shoes. The staff surrounding Ramos and his 5 year plan were dropped in exactly the same manner when Harry came in; of course there’s compensation etc; but the treatment is of the ‘ship out the old, ship in the new’ variety. From this perspective I can understand why a player may appear to act ‘shitty’ if they wish to move to pastures new. Sometimes it’s their ‘one shot’. On the other hand there’s the Janssens of this world that get their ‘one shot’ and don’t fulfil their position. OnionsNot expecting a reply Trix, but to commit to moving overseas for the next 3/4/5 years and telling this to your family must be a major decision - excitement etc. This is really where players are treated like commodities. Can’t register a free agent unless they were free when the window closed.Cant we just give dybala a "gift" (fee juve want) so he can buy himself out of the contract and then sign for us as free transfer ?
Wasn't this what PSG did with neymar ?
