I think a few people rated me as disagree and spam when I said there would be more lows:)

Fuck what everyone else has got, we've got a cracking squad, and we actually made a few bob this summer with our sales.

The whole 50 million loan was just ITK talk, and rumour milling - simply as that (unless there really is levy time), so we have our squad and positions covered.

Personally, I think Rose has done a cracking job and will continue to improve over the summer, I'm not sure LB is a major concern to be honest, Rose, Naughton and Verts who can cover that position is good enough for me.

I'm actually really excited about our team settling over the coming months and then sitting back and enjoying the season, I honestly think we'll see a trophy this year too (Europa League maybe).

We can compete for top 4, we really can.
Agree about everything but the £50mill maybe bollocks but the £30mill from tv money isnt and we didnt spend it

I don't care that we have made a few bob from sales. All I care about is the team on the pitch and to me we look really unbalanced.

We have poor full backs and needed another striking option.

If Lamela is right sided (must admit I though he was left footed) then we are also short in that area

Loads of central midfielders though!

Hope I'm wrong but can see our full backs letting us down like our strikers did last season.

We will see.

Bit gutted to be honest.

I dont want to sound like a whiny ****, but from the outside looking in considering our outgoings and incomings along with our net spend, we couldve done more to solidify our top 4 challenge. a net spend of 4m with a tv deal, new sponsors and a rumoured 50m loan isnt that ambitious IMO. As things stand we still have the 4th/5th best squad in the league (and thats not even considering the fact that our players are mostly all strangers to each other and will take time to gel) which leaves us about where we've been for the last 4/5 years despite spending 100 odd million.

I think we couldve made at least 1 more quality signing.

Its not every season we buy 7 international players at over a 100 million....

its pointless explaning this to some people. Some people clearly live in a world of fifa and football manager and we're buying people with monopoly money that doesn;t really exist.

I'm happy about our TW, but we had a net spend of less than 10m. Even Cardiff spent more than that. We def have money to spend

Why are our fans obsessed with net spend? When you sell someone for 85million, you'd have to go insane to have a substantial net spend, we managed to get in 7 internationals, great players in their own right without going insane. This is not a bad thing, the lower the risk the better it is for our club. It's got nothing to do with ambition, Levy showed real ambition in buying who he bought and he did it within the restrictions of our financial power.

Seems to me some of you just want to moan and are picking the net spend argument because it's easy, if Levy had spent 40-50mill net, you'd likely moan about him risking our club with his reckless spending.

So rose conceded one goal away Arsenal this season, but who conceded the 10 goals away to Arsenal over the 2 previous season's? Seems to me only conceding 1 is an improvement?
Dawson conceded that goal! Two major errors from a poor defender.

Let's let AVB work with the likes of Rose, Chadli, Lamela etc and see what the team can do. It's not like they've had any time together. Haters come back and hate in 6 months.

just wondering...what happened to the mccarthy ITK? did our interest die because of his valuation?

Wing - Lennon, Townsend, Lamela, Chadli
Striker - Soldado, Defoe, Adebayor

Weak? Seriously?
Yes, weak. None of those players would make it into the Bolton squad.

WE HAVE NOONE OF THE QUALITY OF CARL JENKINSON IN OUR SQUAD. HOW ARE WE MEANT TO COMPETE?

Yeah, all the talk of needing a playmaker, we have signed Eriksen for that. 21yrs old, proven already at club, European and international level. He is the man that will provide the link. Holtby has had half a season to bed in, we will see the best of him now too. Two players right there for the key no10 role.
Now of only we had two LB's too....

Totally agree. Would add that Lamela was groomed to take over from the great Totti but stayed out wide while the Italian took the no10 role.

In any case, we will likely have 3 'playmakers' behind Soldaldo rather than wide men as we have traditionally. Expect a 3 of Holtby, Eriksen and Lamela roving around the main man and protected by 2 of Sandro/Paulinho/Capoue/Dembele.

What a window. Once Lamela and Erikon settle in we are absolutely laughing. Can't wait to see them feed Soldado. Looking so good! As far as them lot over the road....they have a top player but they need more. Strengthened their strongest area....left the other places untouched. Coys!
