By giving us a record fee for a player who is, in no way, worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo?

The bastards.

Madrid can't make players come to us. It seems many forget that there are actually players who are people with their own will who are the subject of these million pound deals. Not a random asset. A person who has a say.

We still came out ahead by getting an extra 30 some million on him, so I agree.

Coentrao wanted to go to a club with Champions League football. From a neutral perspective, would you rather join United or Spurs?

This Madrid dicking us over bollocks is exactly that, bollocks. People just sensationalising a non-story. Someone was always gonna come in for Ozil if he was available.

All Madrid have done is overpay for a player and fund our entire squad. They are the dickee's, not the dickers.

Really want us to publicly announce us cutting all ties with Madrid in regards to the 'partnership'.

Like fuck Ozil wouldn't of had other suitors, did they have to sell to our fiercest rivals?

Circus of a club - Perez is just obsessed with having shiny new toys.

United must have had Coentrao on reserve for a couple of days now. Out of the blue I was told yesterday that it was suddenly not going to happen to us. Didnt imagine that it was so dependent on Baines

Has Evra left utd?

Very strange

Coentrao wont even get a game at utd??? Understudy to Evra
And when did Man U loan instead of buy? Bizarre

Laursen came in on loan didn't he?

Man Yoo are a huge club who pay big wages...we can't blame him for choosing them...

Regardless of what's happened today, if back in May, you were shown our final list of ins and outs from this window, you'd have taken it.

Yes we didn't get all our targets - no club ever does. But our squad has greater depth than last season and greater overall quality - we no longer rely on 1 man to score every week.

Give the squad time to gel and I think we could see something special :) COYS
Agree best window in our history but if you look at our rivals we are a class behind

Wow... Real Madrid have stitched us up big time!
No I think we did them. Hope Bale works out better for them than Kaka who just left on a free after being bought for over £50 million just four years ago. No guarantees that Bale, as good as he is, will settle and advance as a player at RM. €100 mill is silly money. Thanks RM for funding us to almost a whole new team

If FC was mooted a few days ago i'm surprised we didn't at least try for Baines.

Guys, Real are not to blame if their players don't want to come to us. They have democracy in Spain now. The players get a choice. It's not us. We move on to people who DO want to play for us.

If we're going to lose our best players I'd still prefer them to go to Madrid for a fortune, instead of trying to force a move to United, City, or the chavs.

Don't get me wrong. We've had a GREAT transfer window.

But I think we were genuinely in for Both Ozil & Coentrao...

A win yesterday might have swung things our way with those two - a one nil loss might have cost us m more than just 3 points.

That said, the first team is significantly stronger than at the start of last season - even with Gareth's departure. The future is bright - even if we didn't pull off our final transfer "WIBNI"s

Thank you Levy, Lewis, BALDINI and AVB. I have to say in all my 48 Spurs supporting years, I have never ever felt better and so confident that we will challenge for the very top than this year. This is the best Spurs squad ever.
With the new stadium coming on nicely and together with our support, we are heading back to the Glory, Glory years yet again.

We are building a long lasting legacy that will long be remembered in football history. COYS.

They would have sold to the club which will have offered them the most. It would have also been the players choice if multiple bids had been accepted.

43 odd million pounds is nothing to be sniffed at. Very few clubs can afford that. From the clubs that have that kind of money - did they even want or need Ozil?

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Ozil is a big time player no doubt, but Arsenal where always going to be up there anyway, they are a quality side. I do think he was a crowd pleaser and not what they need at all.

Epic window for us, ok a left back maybe but Rose is a prem proven player with fryers as his understudy. Eriksen and Lamela (who reminds me of Ronaldo just before he became a animal) i think will help us become more fluid.

Looking forward to a great season
