But there has been something of an ITK lockdown from the look of it. I'm just trying to think of who we might be doing a deal with who'd be equally low-key about a sale. Perhaps a club who know the sale would be unpopular?

Yeah we haven't done a deal without some speculation coming from some media source first.

I can't see us signing any big player out of the blue. The only big name player we could sign would be Hulk, or a Madrid player. We've had no other links.

IF the special purchase comes it won't be a super market trolly purchase, it will have been lined up already, Levy is not going to spunk £45m or even £30m on a last minute thought. Based on the latest information from Di Marzio, it looks like we'll only have Danny Rose as a left-back in the current squad shortly. Surely we will bring in another. Otherwise, why loan BAE out?

The question is, who can we bring in to replace him and challenge Rose? Balzaretti is not a candidate, as he played a full 90 for Roma yesterday and they dont have a replacement. The only two names I can think of are Coentrao and Pereira. Both are loan candidates, I would imagine. I'd be ecstatic with Coentrao and more than happy with Pereira (many don't rate him, but AVB likes him and he has a lot of big match experience).
