The big question is IF we have havetransfer budget for this window as we haven’t touched it does that mean it will role over to next summers tranfer budget? Not including January as more chance of pigs flying than Levy doing business in January
The budget is and always will be (as long as this lot is in charge) what we make from sales.

Thanks, Daniel.

Where this argument falls flat on its face is when you look at many clubs beneath us in terms of stature, Champions League football, Domestic League, etc. that spend millions each transfer window in attempting to strengthen their squad and somehow continue to operate.
Yes, because the players those clubs need to improve would not even make our bench, even injury crisis taken into account, and block the path of our youth players more than it already is.

Each club below us in terms of stature biggest signing this window:

Bournmouth: Diego Rico - who?
Brighton: Florin Andone - who?
Burnley: Ben Gibson - at best would be our 4th choice CB, we have highly talented Foyth for that
Cardiff: Josh Murphy - the shitter brother of the kid who can't make it at Newcastle
Crystal Palace: Max Meyer - Hugely unprofessional billy big balls who was banned from training by his own club - sounds ideal for Poch
Everton: Richarlison - not as good as any of our AMs and he cost £50m!!!!
Fulham: Alex Mitrovic - already flopped in this league/ Schurlle - already flopped in this league / Mawson - see Ben Gibson above
Huddersfield: Terence Kongolo - See Ben Gibson above
Leicester: James Maddison - not as good as any of our current AMs or as Grealish
Newcastle: Salomon Rondon - do I really need to go there?
Southampton: Mohamed Elyounoussi - scored 1 in 3 in the Swiss League for the best club there
Watford: Gerard Delofeu - wasn't good enough for Everton to activate a clause
West Ham: Felipe Anderson - go back to Richarlison
Wolves: Benik Afobe - well I guess he used to play with Harry Kane, god dammit we should've signed him!

The club doesnt care. Levy doesnt give a shit what the fans or Poch thinks. He's sitting in his office calculating his next raise.

I knew a spurs supporter who dined with the board a lot (all senior types not for us mere mortals!) anyway, he always said that Levy was boring af but cared about the club. We have a good squad but if you don’t improve you go backwards it’s as simple as that really. This was a big opportunity and it appears from ITK we may have missed out on it. If Levy REALLY does care then he needs to take a long-hard look at himself. I won’t hold my breath but so want to be wrong...

Anyway COYS and hope to see our youth shine ?

It it is what it is now I feel quite a relief that this agonising window is almost over, horror show of a window no doubt but looking forward to the proper stuff on Saturday.

A journo has just texted me that they are already been given a spin. That Pochis very specific the type of players he wanted. And it was more him deciding not to sign for the sake of it. This journo also knows the truth, which ‘I/we may go public if it is safe to do so’. Club are watching social media like gestapos. No joke.
Putting more effort into covering the fact there's no signings than actually attempting to sign a player

Waiting for the short time left however am I am sorely disappointed and feel let down, a bit like the old man spending his last tenner on booze rather than food for the family!

I will be cancelling my Spurs membership for this season.

It’s really worrying that the club are so worried about the truth coming out.

To me it says, “we’ve smashed all the fans with massive season ticket prices so we can’t let everyone know how much we’ve fucked up”.

The way they’ve managed the club the past few months with ticket and membership prices and this transfer window has been nothing but incompetent and it’s all driven by greed.

Fulham: Seri* would have taken him in a fucking heartbeat
Leicester: Maddison - had better stats than Grealish, I'd probably prefer Grealish but they were neck and neck

And then if we're around 4th place or dare I say it challenging even higher than that come March/April you'll be asking if anyone has a spare ticket.

It's not as memorable because it wasn't immediately apparent. But I think Summer 2016 was probably our worst window. We spent £75m on Sissoko, Janssen, Wanyama, N'Koudou, and Lopez on loan. The only one of those we'd still want around two years on is Wanyama, and he seems to have chronic fitness issues. The other three cost us £60m between them, are so poor that we can't seem to sell them at all let alone re-coup that money despite huge transfer inflation since then, have taken up squad opportunities from talented youngsters who've got so fed up some of them have started leaving the club, and are now hogging squad spaces we therefore can't use on anybody else. That is FAR worse than a couple of short-term freebies or simply doing nothing.

And despite that 16-17 was then our best season in decades. It's not all about the players who come in. And this time we haven't set ourselves up to suffer even more in the future.
So this is the Levy/Cullen post transfer rationalisation. We were cheap in the past and bought rubbish back ups who unsurprisingly failed so rather than repeat that again we are going to not buy anyone.

Of course the alternative would be we stop spending money on rubbish and buy fewer genuine quality players but that would be far too rational / expensive for ENIC.

I said it many months ago, the most important determinant of our spending this summer was getting a naming rights sponsor. This was Levy’s biggest / only job and he failed miserably.

Cue negative ratings from @tiger666 and the other BSoDL.

I'm not talking at an individual level. Add up the net spend of Everton for instance and tell me we couldn't pay the same for an individual player who is the finished goods and would have improved the squad. All we needed was 1-2 elite players to add to the squad. I'm not talking about buying 4-5 players in the 20 million range.

This keeps being said again and again, but this does not apply to central midfield where we are quite weak. I've been through this argument in detail in the Pochettino thread. It's nothing more than an excuse i'm afraid.

All we needed minimum was a fucking decent midfielder, they didn't have to be world class to be better than what we have.

Well I have faith. Winks played against Madrid and more than held his own. We were hit hard by injury in that position last year. With everyone fit we have a decent group in that position.

Im most annoyed at the fact I told myself this will be the window Levy finally takes risks due to all the assurances poch was given and the new stadium. The situation we are in is completely opposite to what I thought might happen and there is now a major divide in our fanbase worst I have seen since AVB. I don't think anyone saw the window panning out this way it did and this is why everyone is angry at Levy. I am worried for Saturday because if we get belted like the 5-1 on last day of the season a few years ago there is fuck all we can do about our team. See you in Jan lads gonna go spend some time with my girlfriend who I have ignored all summer.
