I’m officially handing in my notice to @Stoof and quitting the BSoDL, the little dwarf has screwed this up big time and unless we are firmly top 4 come the end of the year,he’d better be handing Poch a small fortune in January

I resent being called a dwarf.

Right, getting out of here for a bit to have my meltdown in private.

Who needs players in this day and age. Bale's overrated anyway.

Thanks @Rob and @Archibald&Crooks, been a hoot of a window as ever. Another few quid coming your way shortly.

Peace out, fuckers.

What's frustrating is that you get the feeling that we only needed two or three signings to make a push and properly challenge for the league. Nobody expected us to spunk £100m on one player and put them on £250k p/w. Backup for Eriksen (Grealish), a defender to replace Toby (if he left) and maybe one marquee signing that's still within reason was all most of us wanted.

How we have not identified and made those signings is beyond belief. Yes, we still have a great squad, but the teams we are chasing from last season have strengthened and the teams that are chasing us have done the same.

I want to win the league, and not signing anyone won't help that cause, neither will moving back home (it's still a new stadium for the players), neither will an extra season of gelling; people keep mentioning this as if it's some sort of weapon, but this isn't an advantage that is exclusive to us.

You fear that that as the years go by, Madrid will inevitably come calling for some of our stars - Poch included - and the team will break up and we'll have to rebuild all over again. We've proved that we're not a club that is willing to spend big bucks on proven players, so if and when we lose the Kane's and Eriksen's of the world, how will we replace them? We needed to invest now to ensure we win something and prevent that from happening.

I'm not saying we won't win anything - no one's to know for sure - but we've certainly not made it easy for ourselves.

Well let's hope we don't suffer any further injuries and we improve mentally. Not great at all and quite embarrassing but I also understand if what in the end was available was squad fillers

Well, no, but nobody who has bought a ticket has done so with a gun to their head, unless you know someone who has? If so, please call the police quickly as that's just not right :)

Sorry - this is bullshit. Football is different to every other commercial product. There is no competition. They're exploiting us as we have no other choice. The owners need to shows some restraint and be less greedy.

At the end of last season we were all pretty much in agreement that our CM needed strengthening and that we were a Kane or Eriksen injury away from a big problem with the best XI. Most people also felt that we lacked a strong enough squad to compete on all fronts.

So now we have not improved any of those areas. I cannot see both Arsenal and Chelsea being as poor as last year. There is every chance we’ll finish outside the top 4.

We have some great players who must be questioning the ambition of the club. They want to win things and I am sure most will be out the door if we don’t qualify for the CL next year. I am sure the manager has some reservations regardless if his comments today. He is hardly likely to be negative 2 days before the first match of the season.

The fans have every right to be unhappy. We want to win trophies above everything else and we are not putting ourselves in the best position to do that. Furthermore we could be putting future success at risk by treading water.

The level of acceptance is mind boggling.

Fair play.

Yep. I don’t understand this.

Of course Poch has to come out and give a positive spin on this. I’d love to know his real thoughts. And as fans we have to keep our chins up and get behind what we have. A new stadium to look forwards to IS a major positive.

BUT

But this has been an absolute shocker of a transfer window for us. No bones about it. We have taken zero! Opportunities to improve on what we have. How we can go an entire summer and not pick out a single player that will make us better baffles me. Standing still whilst others improve is a risky business.

If someone had said in June, we are happy with what we have, no signings, then fine but coming out with this tosh party line now is very poor.

We have a brilliant starting XI and I dearly hope everyone of them stays fit, but not impressed from the non ITK side of the fence.

A wonderful, romantic view, but sadly not one which will ever apply at the top level again.

Everyone is entitled to decide that they have better things to spend their money on at the end of the day. I, for one, could have put the cost of my season ticket towards my wedding instead.

For me it's more the that there were various external reasons for deals to not be concluded, however why not take control of the situation as Liverpool did.
