The massive risk is burn out. Especially to Kane, Son and Kulusevski.

Just think they're going to be totally overplayed with this insane fixture list.

Richarlison will get plenty of opportunity and so he should but if one of these 4 pick up any serious injury we're up shit creek.

We needed one more quality attacking option imo. And I mean over another CB as well.

If we can keep everyone fit up until the WC then it’s been a great transfer window. If Dier, Kane, or 2 midfielders get injured then it’s been a shambles lol.
Could say that for any clubs key players in reality. It's part of the reason why we maybe aren't going to sign anyone else, because the deals we would like to do aren't available and the alternatives don't fit the bill for Conte.

As Paul O'keefe said on twitter yesterday, feels like the club got 80% of the way there and it just kind of fell off for some reason. Definitely expected a bit more in the end but still like the players we came away with.
I think we hit a wall in getting players out - we were not able to sell anyone, and I think that probably threw a spanner in the works.

It happens.

We are a better squad today, than we were in May. So, by that measure, a successful summer.

Not sure if its just me or whatever, but watching that West Ham game, Kulusevski is already looking a bit burnt out. He cant really survive 90mins in a high pressure PL game and shouldnt be starting every single game. Massive failure on the clubs side to get in an adequate replacement, or at least a quality flexible AM where we can become a bit creative. Could cost vital points for sure. Not forgetting a quality LCB we desperately need also.

I think given how successful our January window was people were expecting the recruitment team to pull signings of this ilk of to improve the first team. Probably why I am disappointed.

And that still may be the case. I for one would like to see all of our new signings get more of a run in. I'd really like to see Lenglet, Spence and Bissouma look to push for a permanent spot in the starting 11. And I really like what I've seen from Richarlison so far.

But we signed at least 3 players of that ilk this summer: Richalison, Perisic, and Bissouma

And, we got them in early.

Conte keeps repeating that we need 2 or 3 windows. Too many wrongs to undo in one window.

Looking forward to the weekend now

A window of two halves. In the first half, we had the clearest plan I can ever remember at Spurs. The manager identified positions of need (attacking LWB, progressive passing LCB, sturdy CM/DM, striker who can also play wide or in a two, backup homegrown GK) and we went out with a list of players in each position and ticked them off one by one. Some we got our primary target, some the backup, but it was always obvious what we were doing.

Then we shifted gears pretty dramatically. We started selling and loaning the rejects as fast as we could, and all our links became about possible bargains or clever loans. I suspect this marked the point where we had filled the positionsthat Conte had demanded, and now we were hunting for opportunistic deals to pad out the squad. Spence and Udogie seem like good signings for the future, but it’s a shame we couldn’t get another across the line because it seems we were keen especially on Zaniolo.

Yep this window is the running back who breaks the blitz and passes the linebackers and is caught 5yrds from endzone by corner back or safety with 2secs on the clock. It's a great play but ultimately there's no glory just... Nearly.

Don't agree with that reasoning at all! Sure the squad might be better today but you have to compare it to the other teams in the league and what they have been doing this summer. Arsenal, Man C, Man U, Chelsea etc have all strengthened their squads so just to improve on last year is not good enough if we want to compete with the other top teams in the country!

Sorry but there’s never glory in the transfer window. Imagined glory maybe but the real stuff is won on the pitch, and very often by players who didn’t receive a lot of transfer fanfare.

I do wonder who we were actually trying to get today if we were actually really trying.
We been trying to get Mbappe. Fabio been working hard on it from 6pm but think we might just run out of time. Never mind we will try again in the January window.
In the meantime we have a strong enough squad and if Kulu gets injured we can play Skipp in his position ?
Why do i feel Deja -Vu again.

Have to just pray we get good luck with injuries/fitness. Conte won’t use Gil so any noticeable injuries and we’ll be relying on the likes of Lucas and Sanchez way too much.
