On outgoings:
We are currently struggling to get interested parties apparently.
This is due to very little interest in the players, let alone our asking price.
This is always the case with our deadwood, there is a reason why we struggle to shift them, it is because everyone knows they are shit. I imagine we will push many out towards the end of the window, and perhaps a few loans, etc.

I wouldn’t say they are that bad no one wants them. There will always be clubs interested, it’s either the wages are too high or the fee we want for them is unrealistic or even the player doesn’t fancy a move away?

I wouldn’t say players like Regi, Sanchez, Lo Celso etc… are ‘shit’ more likely that the kind of teams that are interested just can’t afford their wages.

Yeah, I agree, and my problem is that I conflate Dier's overall ability to every other unwanted player

I think we'll see a bunch of loans and Aurier style contract cancellations in the last week of the window. Selling 2-3 will be progress and i'm sure there will be 1 or 2 that end up earning a spot in the squad.

Personally, I think Ange could work with Lo Celso, Gil and Reguilon. Given the style of play and formation, it might be worth giving some of them a final shot if we can't sell them.

Following on from H88's post about being ruthless. I'd imagine we would be more flexible, as I'd expect the likes of sanchez, lloris and dier have 0 value on the books as assets. Their cost would have surely been depreciated over the course of their original contract timespan.

think they are now on the books as liabilities

Will delete if not allowed, but I’m pretty sure Paul O Keefe is accepted now. As always, apply salt though.

On Tapsoba:
Currently ongoing, clubs are in talks but nothing agreed yet. Personal terms will not be an issue.

On Maddison:
Personal terms already agreed at just over 9m a year.
His current Leicester deal was just about to be halved too (due to relegation) so was always going to agree terms.

On Maguire:
On the list of potentials, but not sure how high up now.

On Bayern media linking Kane:
Are they still trying to flog that dead horse?🤦‍♂️

On Micky Van De Ven:
Hasn’t heard anything about him.

Where have we seen the last point before De-ja-vu.

If we havent got some of the deadwood off the books previously, why do we think we will this year?
Few that have gone out on loan have pulled up trees. Yes we might reduce the figure we want for them but the player has to want to go too.
It's the real reason we havent progressed - spent money on bang average players but pay them so much no-one else wants.
Yes we can cancel contracts, sell cheap but all means less money for us to strengthen.
Ange, I think, will have to get a tune out of some we dont want kept.

Right guys and gals we need to start hyping our shit players up to try and con ppl to showing some interest. We talk them down too much and wonder why no one is clamouring for them 😂

Utterly pointless moving on Richy. There is a player in there. He also could be a reasonable plan if Kane moves on at the end of the season
Club legend Martin Chivers agrees with you on that.

"Ruthless" was the word I read about Levy and outgoings?

It is a bit of strange word to have used in the context of outgoings as really it's hard to be ruthless with players under contract. Paying players contracts up just to get rid of them isn't really ruthless, as its not in the club's interest to cough up money and get no benefit for it.

I guess the only way he could be "ruthless" is to completely discard them , not involve them in the squad, and force the players/their agents to find an exit or risk a season in the wilderness whilst we bring in players we want and use ahead of them. Not something he's really done before as it's expensive for the club to pay players they aren't using - which is why inevitably all our comfortable players who have previously turned down moves have just been allowed to stay, be fully involved and pick up their money.

I took ruthless to be the latter.
Being crystal clear that they aren’t part of the club’s plans going forward and suggesting they and their agents look for a new club or they’ll be on the outside looking in.

Yeah, it has to be this way and then you can see if these guys are in it for the football or the easy cash.

Yes, it’s the only way I can make that wording in any way plausible. Still not sure it really fits with how levy will really act. he Can be as harsh as he wants in telling players they won’t play but if they can’t find a better deal anywhere else, they could just sit it out until he agrees to give them more of a reason to leave (eg by paying them)
