Likely not in terms of just funds no, but it's easier to do your business without getting fleeced like Utd when clubs aren't aware you have a ton of money to splurge.

I am kinda stunned about this deal- I never thought it would get done.
He's exactly what we need and lets hope it's done before all of the players return for pre-season

I thought we'd probably get it done once Newcastle backed off but I'm stunned at how quickly it's developed.

Thought it was likely to be a summer-long saga with Leicester demanding 60m and us not budging for 40m, with a compromise made much later in the window.

As someone else posted, I get the feeling Leicester's new manager has played a big part. Leicester's position softened from the day he was appointed (about a week ago). If he wants money for signings and to bring them in for pre-season they had little choice but to flog Maddison ASAP.

It's more like last summer. Move fast on the priority targets and then it grinds to a halt when we hit the 'sell to buy' phase.

It is a more sensible way to doing business. One benefit it seems to having other football operators alongside Levy at the top (Paratici/Munn).

I am actually getting excited about the next season. It seems to be we are putting the final pieces of the puzzle together.

Our incomings over the past 2 seasons have seemed to be have been made with a level of intelligent method, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Bentakur and Romero. Even though Richarlison was a bit of not needed lavishness can see how he can fit into the squad.

Add Vicarlson, Maddison Topsoba and another CD and we finally look like a balanced well rounded 1st team with reasonable levels of cover.

Throw in the mix a couple of circa 20m wild cards, and the noise surrounding Ange from people ITK we could finally have a proper foundation for Top 4 (5) and beyond.

Even if Kane does go we certainly seem to finally have a plan. Whether we stumbled upon it or not is a question for another day.
