Would be gutted if we lost out on Sig. For that kind of wages/price tag there is no one better out there:(

Would be an ideal cover/option for Rafa, or on the right side in a front 3.

So, Rebrab going against the grain with Blanc then? Interesting, I've never found his ITK very convincing, so if he calls this right he could be up there with the big-hitters....

I really can't see who else it can be. The longer AVB has gone on without anything happening the more I've begun to doubt that it is him.

When you say best pool of centre backs. Which players are you referring to?
Vertonghen
Kaboul
Caulker
Dawson
Bassong

You're kidding right?

Kaboul & Vertonghen are awesome, Caulker has potential but only 1 years prem experience, Dawson is injury prone and despite giving 110% effort isn't good enough and Bassong is useless - hence why he's been loaned out for pretty much the last 2 seasons.
If Ferguson considers Smalling and Jones good enough to play for United, then Caulker (better than both) is certainly good enough to be our first choice backup. Dawson is no longer one of our first choice centre backs, but is still good enough to be 4th choice. Bassong is far from useless, as he showed in the CL qualification season. Any player will look out of sorts when they go such long periods without playing, and CBs are probably worst affected in this regard.

Especially to a team like Liverpool where he just wouldn't fit in with their traditional style of punt and bully play

Sigurdsson is over-rated; Lack of pace and un-proven.
I wouldn't consider it bad news if we miss out on him, Just like I wouldn't consider AVB as "good news" as he has a lot to prove.

Losing out of Sig maybe

We've just had the 2 bad news, Ledders retiring is certainly bad news, and Modric leaving I would say is also bad news, Sig will be one of the 3 good news, Vertonghen and AVB the other I suspect are the other 2, The big news is most likely this investment stuff thats been doing the rounds, tie that up with the Stadium development.

Re: Modric

He's gone. 100%. STORM.

Some big big announcements coming soon... and some good news tied in amongst the bad.

Jacob

to Real Madrid from his Star of Real Madrid thing probably

What does STORM mean???

RM = Real Madrid?

Hope so (not that I want him to go but if so, to real madrid would suit me fine as I put money on Modric to RM at 11/1 a while ago)

He have been a big hit everywhere, even in Hoffenheim he banged in goals and got assist like few others. Voted Prem player of the month at the age of 22 in a mediocre side. Besides scoring a lot he's also a big threat on set pieces, and we desperately need to improve on those.

And on his pace, Rafa hardly the fastest guy out there either and he is still top quality.
