Suarez is not a similar player to VDV, and doesn't play a similar role. As an available player he was a missed boat, for the wrong reasons. But as a person, it now transpires that I'm glad because I wouldn't the racist prick in our side but that doesn't mean the football logic that spurned him was correct.

Absolutely bluddy not...does anyone in their right might imagine Suarez would have any chance of pulling Sylvie...even with a footballer's salary :shrug:

:oops::oops:

Sorry TS but Sturridge would cost at least 15 million plus because he is young,english and in Chelsea's first team and secondly they wouldn't sell him to us,and for Sinclair he is having a reasonably good season but would still be a big gamble as twentyish games doesn't make him EPL proven.
Remy will be exspenive as will any rated player in this window it depends how willing Mr Levy co are willing to go and we will only know if and when it happens, hopefully by the end of the window we will all now know for sure.

edgey and pensive fan hoping sooner than later:grin:

Phil Jones had played less than one season and Smalling, what was it, 10 games? Then there's the likes of Walcott, Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain, who hadn't even played at the top level, yet they all cost reasonable - expensive transfer fees.

No he wouldn't. They are completely different players. Forlan is closer to VDV in terms of role and style.

Well for me it doesnt matter what role Suarez would play as id rather have a moldy role than him he is v.much a bad egg and a horrible cheat!!

Last year we were looking for a player to play up front ahead of VdV, someone to put the ball in the net. Suarez isn't that player and plays a more similar role to VdV than he does for example Adebayor. Hence he would have played a similar role for us.

He's vastly overrated anyway.
