SSN are sneaky, they receive info all the time and release some while holding back other bits. If they are repeating one line it doesn't mean this is the most up to date thing. They will announce when something is official, but until that point they will do whatever they can to build tension and drama. It's reality TV rather than news.

Said Damiao was dead at lunchtime. Levy tried to have a conversation with them but it couldn't be resurrected. Lissandro had been offered but it was Leandro or bust. Likely to end without a striker now, although there's a very slim chance Spurs could try to pull out all the stops with a late bid.
Pleat then added: The price is simply too high, it has been for ages, and it hasn't changed.
Pleat adding how we tried to sign Diego when he was there, and it failed because the ownership percentages kept changing.
He's come across pretty well tonight, Pleat.
