Some sort of striker would have been lovely... It's going to be Kane 4th choice, who realistically won't play because Dempsey on his own will be the fallback when Defoe/Adebayor aren't available. Holtby injects a bit of hope into the whole thing, think he and Adebayor could be a good combo, massively relying on latter to come back to form. Then happy enough with Dempsey and Defoe as impact subs/being rotated in. But can't help feeling that it didn't have to be like this...

Adebayor Injured = we are fucked!
Lennon Injured = we are fucked!
Defoe Injured = we are fucked until Adebayor gets back!

Ah, the Levy apologists are out in force again!

The fact is we've got rid of Modric, Kranjcar, VdV, Saha and Pavlyuchenko, and replaced them with Dembele, Holtby, Sigurdsson and Dempsey.

While Pav was useless and Dembele and Holtby look good, the fact is we were not strong enough this time last year, and we are weaker now than we were then.

It's not acceptable that we keep leaving it this late and missing out on top players. We've been within Wenger's scrawny old cock of Damião and Moutinho, yet we have neither.

Lets just hope for now defoe and dempsey can soldier on for us until adebayor comes back (hopefully with a new air of confidence)

For what it's worth, I think Adebayor and Holtby can be bloody good for us for the remainder of the season.

So do I. Though it's one thing Levy and AVB sitting down and coming to the conclusion that we aren't going to go for a striker (which admittedly would still be disappointing), but it feels more frustrating that we've seemingly left it all to the last day again and surprise surprise, it hasn't worked out.
