Where has it said that>>>???? i think people are getting carried away with pure speculation.

18.00 Jim White has declared the transfer window closed, but Spurs are still in the market Raymond van der Vaart apparently. Which sounds more likely than Rafael to us.

17.56 With four minutes to go, SSN start talking about Rafael van der Vaart joining Tottenham. Are we supposed to believe this?

Ben Smith of the Times tweeted: "Rafael Van Der Vaart pulls into #Spurs training ground at 5.59pm. You wouldn't describe that Harry Redknapp as a wheeler-dealer, would you?"

And of some chappy on the Guardian tweeted that he was there too.

Why can't things ever be simple with our transfer dealings! I only have 11% iPhone battery left and then will only be able to check transfers when I get back from Chester at midnight :(

I don't care if we sign them. This is the most fun I've had this summer in regards to signings. It was a joy to be silly rather than edgy.

Now sign dem bitches, Levy!!!!

Diarra
Sandro
Huddlestone
Jenas
Lennon
Bale
Bentley
Palacios
GDS
Kranjcar

Bale and GDS are not in the 25 man squad as they count as U21

Jez on 606: "Rumour (from a good source) is that Van der Vaart has signed a season long loan with Spurs. The loan agreement apparently includes a purchase agreement for an, obviously, undisclosed amount..."

This whether true or not does make sense as wouldnt take so long to sort and agree terms etc...

All the rumours are just that - fabricated nonsense. At the moment, anyway.

Reports in Spain claim Van Der Vaart has rejected our offer, and a rumour that Real have pulled the plug on the deal has been picked up by Goal.com.

Truth is, no one actually knows what is going on. I'm not even sure anyone of note has any confirmation of Van Der Vaart even being in talks with Spurs.

All conjecture, but I do hope it's true and we get him.

tweets from English newspapers would be a fair definition of pure speculation in my book

Any news on why Spurs are allowed to sign people beyond the deadline

I have it on pretty good authority that the van der Vaart story was a wind-up.

Harry Redknapp leaked it to find out who the 'mole' is at his club and, sure enough, it was in the papers and on Sky within an hour or so.

How very odd.

It's been that kind of day.
