Haha, my woman wouldn't appreciate that I imagine. Besides, when I say she was sweet I'm talking about the fact that she's a semi successful broadcast journalist who didn't tell me to fuck off when I started badgering her with questions about broadcast journalism.

I chatted with Geraint on and off as well, I asked him if everyone at Sky just pissed themselves laughing at the millions of people who religously tune in on deadline day when they in fact no little to no more than any normal person. This was met with a wry smile and a wink.

Yes, but did her minge smell?

If Arsenal were trying to sign this player, we would be screaming "cheats!" As indeed many did when they signed Arshavin.

There's an element of hypocrisy, or at least special pleading here.

Lighten up. Arsenal are our rivals you know, so it doesn't matter if we have a moan about them.

Don't be ridiculous. Unless we can prove a genuine technical reason for being late (faulty fax etc.) we're f*ck*d. Just hope that the docs can be shown as sent prior to 6.00pm.

Anything can be proved with the right skill set.

why the fuck is anyone using faxes in the 21st century?

Stoof may be able to back me up on this, as he seems like he is involved in the legal world, but basically a lot of legal firms still use fax and a lot of legal contracts are still done via fax. As far as i understand it then in order or ensuring a document is genuine and thus legally binding the order of preference is: Signed original copy, signed fax copy, signed and then scanned email copy.

Absolutely correct. Don't need Stoof to ratify it, you got me too :-D

I have been a solicitor for 13 years, and yes a faxed copy is acceptable. The issue with electronic forms of communication is mainly to do with the service of process and documents, but that doesn't really apply here.

Cheers BBLG!

The fact the FA have given us until tomorrow pretty much guarantees that we'll be able to 'furnish' :shifty: some proof to them if needed. Had they asked for proof right away then we may have been more stuck.

Danny Kelly said something about this on talkshit ages ago.

Amazing to think you can learn from talkshite.

I think it's a mixture of comical and tragic that exactly the same people who were raging on nine hours ago about what a **** Levy is and how he's a total cheapskate with no ambition and a desire to wreck our only chance at Champions League glory because he wouldn't/couldn't sign a star striker are now all cock-a-hoop because we're probably signing van der Vaart.

I mean, VDV is a wonderful footballer and I'll be well chuffed if he's going to play for Tottenham, but he's not a striker, he can't play up front on his own and he plays the same position as three players whom we have in the first team already.

Basically, it just shows that the people who were slagging off Levy and the club have absolutely no comprehension of or interest in forming a Spurs team that will win things. They just want their star transfer Now Now Now, whatever it means for the club, so they can come all Billy Big Bollocks with the Gooners at work. How pathetic.

WTF does any of this have to do with assembling a winning Spurs team? How are the people who were ranting on that we need a new striker, because the four established international strikers we already have are obviously crap, satisfied that we've signed another midfielder?

Stupidity and immaturity may be a good explanation.

Let me explain something to you Dave, because you are one of the more intelligent posters on any of the boards. So hopefully this won't be lost on you.

For me, I don't have a lot of contact with Spurs folks. I live in the US, away from youth friends from Canada, and I have one coworker that is old school supporter (I'm talking 81 semifinal). And he like you, is very level headed. I appreciate that, but around him I have to be almost dispassionate.

I post as a brash idiot that is here for fun for the most part, but I get tired of the bullshit at times, like you have here. Those tend to coincide with poor weeks. It's a rollercoaster ride and I have a wonky stomach. That's just the way it is. I say things when things are shitty.

It's how I process this emotional entanglement with this insane club. But over the years, I've come to learn that if you don't take chances in an argument to be wrong then you never learn anything. So I take chances sometimes. Like I argued with talkshow about stagnation today. Looks like he kicked my ass in that argument. But at least, I had enough self worth to value my own thoughts and try and clear my head.

I did the same thing with Gallas. Was quite open about what I was doing. And you know what? The process worked. I bitched, said Harry would get fired, and remonstrated. I processed, if you will. Then I started to read other opinions with a clear head and I had my opinion turned. By expelling rather shoving my worries down deep down, I was able to both dispel my fears and find hope in Gallas.

Did the same thing with Bellamy, although I would have been better not worrying about it.

I don't have anybody else to process this saga with. It's you people. I can't go down to the pub and get told to fuck off. I have to do it here. I can't say "hey this was good" and people say "yeah it was". I have to do that here. I can't panic and have somebody say it will be alright. I have to do that here. And sometimes it's great and sometimes I don't need an afterlife in hell. You people along with this club have already done that for me.

Most of you here.....you are surrounded by people to do this with. You have mates, and meet at pubs, and sit next to people every other week. I don't. So I am sorry as HELL that this team chose me. I really am, so often. But it's not like I had a choice.

And I'm sorry that I am stuck trying to process following the most fucking bat shit insane club from an ocean away in a sea of NFL lovers. But I try to make do. And being told to fuck off so much and getting neg repped so often is the price I have to pay to make this obsession work. And every day, I lost faith with the English more and more for some of the shit I have to put up with. And every day I wish I had picked United or Barcelona or even Arsenal (because Bergkamp made me fall in love with the game). But I am Spurs. And I am pretty fucking alone out here.

And I would appreciate it, if all of you goddamn people started realizing HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT...that you are not alone in your obsession with this club.

I'm sorry I offend so many of you. And I am sorry that it makes me a fan or a monkey faced Canadian c*** in all your eyes. Never a supporter though. That's only for people who think the right way. The only thing I can do, is wish this way of life on all of you. Just so you can see how great it is to be a Yid alone and get nothing but abuse from people that you don't know.

By the way, I was never convinced of Fabiano and I only want VDV because I am a fan. I hope he works out. I don't love change for change sake. I just want us to get better.

Thank you.....I'm off to procreate with myself as so many of you have suggested so often in the past.

Can RM make VDV a free agent and we can sign him for free then have another agreement outside of FA with RM?

I think you are taking it a little too personally. Many fans don't have other Spurs fans around, and being a Spurs fan alone really isn't the worst positin to be in, in life.

Its a debate board. Debate is what happens. Debate by its very nature sometimes gets heated. Its almost as if this pots is decalring that you should have special treatment because you are in the States.

Making a statement and throwing it out there may be your way of doin things. But it is a way, like it or not, that will attract a greater risk of criticism and neg reps if you make comments without thinking them through first. Considering what you are going to say is all part of the debate process.

........I don't have a lot of contact with Spurs folks. I live in the US, away from youth friends from Canada, and I have one coworker that is old school supporter (I'm talking 81 semifinal)........

Nor do I. I live in Canada, away from youth friends in England (and I was at the '81 semi-final).

I don't have anybody else to process this saga with........ And every day, I lost faith with the English more and more for some of the shit I have to put up with. And every day I wish I had picked United or Barcelona or even Arsenal (because Bergkamp made me fall in love with the game). But I am Spurs. And I am pretty fucking alone out here.

That can be a double-edged sword. If the people you can talk to spout horseshit, it is worse than having nobody to talk to.

And I would appreciate it, if all of you goddamn people started realizing HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT...that you are not alone in your obsession with this club.

You are never alone in that obsession. Even if there are genuinely no other yids within a short car ride from where you live (which I seriously doubt) you can 'infect' the locals with your passion and educate them about the beautiful game and our club.

I'm sorry I offend so many of you. And I am sorry that it makes me a fan or a monkey faced Canadian c*** in all your eyes.

Nobody should ever be offended by the views of somebody who genuinely cares about this club. There's nothing wrong with controversial opinion, especially if the person expressing it has an open mind about other views.

Never a supporter though. That's only for people who think the right way.

That, my friend, is bollocks.

By the way, I was never convinced of Fabiano and I only want VDV because I am a fan. I hope he works out. I don't love change for change sake. I just want us to get better.

And so say us all.

Thanks for sharing DP. I appreciate your passion and understand your position and frustration. I also like reading your posts. Look me up if you get to Nanaimo.

I'm coming to Canada for 3 months in January.

Is it true the birds over there love English blokes which could result in me getting loads of pussy? Or is that a myth?

Sorry i don't want to go off topic, but this is very important information i need to know.
