The interesting bit..

At the moment English Liga does not give validity to the operation, which has motivated a consultation to the FIFA on the part of the English club. The opinion of the maximum organism of world-wide soccer is that if the market is closed at night in Spain to twelve, the sale is valid.

The transfer of Rafael van der Vaart at Tottenham has finally become a soap opera. The Madrid reached a deal with Tottenham for the sale of the Dutchman and the transaction closed ten minutes after the deadline set by the Premier League to make transfers, seven in the evening in Spain. At the moment the Premier League does not give validity to the operation, which has prompted an inquiry to FIFA by the English club. The opinion of world football's governing body is that if the market closes in Spain at twelve o'clock at night, the sale is valid. At present, the Premier considers the case, but may not resolve until tomorrow, according to the BBC. The film of the events began mid-afternoon when Tottenham came into contact with Madrid to demand the release of the Dutchman. The response of the white club was that it would only accept a transfer. Then both sides began to negotiate a fair price and found 11 million euros. The player, who still has three years left on his contract with Madrid, also reached agreement with Tottenham. The problem is that when they sent the documentation to the Premier League was too late.
Tottenham coach, Harry Redknapp, said: "The signing is eternal. We have to wait if it is valid or not. We thought we were going to sell the player at Bayern for 20 million and its price suddenly dropped to the 11, and that is a very reasonable amount for a player of his quality. It is a star that will give us a plus. We also had an interest in Ryan Babel, but never came close. " In Madrid and was succeeded by a similar case in the market last winter when Gago negotiated the transfer of Manchester City for 18 million, but exceeded the deadline closed for transactions. Van der Vaart was not displeased to Mourinho, but he was not going to have too many opportunities and the offer from Tottenham for the club was irrechazable white.
If you leave the Netherlands, the Madrid was left with 24 players and you can register all Professional League, although he would have liked to third exit, Mamadou Diarra of Mali. The offers for him were less and less amount and also the work was not leaving, especially when out of contract next season. Van der Vaart joined Real Madrid in August 2008 from Hamburg. For white club he paid 13 million euros. During these two seasons has played 71 games and scored 12 goals, but has not been a permanent fixture. Only during the period in which Kaka was injured last season played a role in the team.

We will be fine, I am sure Levy's lawyers in court would bring up the words William Gallas, Ashley Cole, Benjani, Huth, Arshavin and show that a fax arriving late has not prevented previous deals

Ossie - thanks.

Real Madrid want the money, and Real Madrid have clout in the corridors of power of international football. Hopefully, having them in our corner will make any overly officious jobsworths at the FA/EPL back down.

That's my hope that with real Madrids power on the interrnational stage the premier league will let this deal go through.

Peanut versus Ben, who is the best ITK? Only one way to find out.... FIGHT!!

Both clowns who are usually wrong - just my opinion though.

Ben's info is invariably badly-written rubbish that I can't understand, I tend to ignore it these days.

I really dont know mate, all i know is we think we did everything on time, just not sure whether real madrid did, But saying that, I think that there are other itk's that are better informed on the business side than me.

We did go for Hleb (couldn't commit but wanted to be kept informed), Babel (obvious i know) and Diarra (not sure if that was today though) apparently
thanks, i hate waiting in a shop queue!! so this is bloody murder!

Sounds like we got it through on time, but Real Madrid didn't. But because their window shuts at midnight, FIFA approve. But because the whole deal didn't go through on time, the Premier League aren't too pleased.

If FIFA are on side, I think this will go through

How on earth did we agree wages let alone get him over here in less than 2 hours! Amazing stuff (if it works out!).

I get the feeling that as long as our paperwork was submitted on time it will be ok. Real Madrid might have a bit of wiggle room as they are foreign and are, well, ARSENAL!!!.

Those are the straws im clutching to anyway.

Be more optimistic if this were the case

The crossing of Rafael goes to der Vaart to the Tottenham has finished becoming culebrón. Madrid reached an agreement with the Tottenham for the sale from the Dutch and closed the operation ten minutes after the hour limit determined by the Premier League to make crossings, the seven of afternoon in Spain. At the moment English Liga does not give validity to the operation, which has motivated a consultation to the FIFA on the part of the English club. The opinion of the maximum organism of world-wide soccer is that if the market is closed at night in Spain to twelve, the sale is valid. At the moment, the Premier studies the case, but it is possible that it does not solve see you tomorrow, according to the BBC.

The transfer window may have closed, the rules of ITK discussion have not.

There really was no need to write this when there's plenty to discuss now was there

I doubt we got him over. Medical in Spain, wages agreed over phone.

Simples. All thats left is paperwork. I am sure they have templates and just add the names to the blanks.

I know the facts on this one dont worry. Ive been watching so much SSN ive adopted Jim fuckin Whites scottish accent!

Funniest. Thing. Ever.

Thois will be SSN that had Babel in a chopper onb his way to the Lodge will it? Great source of information!

As an aside, why do people keep referring to the FA? This is an PL issue not an FA one.

Finally, for the purposes of serving documents for Court purposes, the time a fax is sent is calculated by the start time of the fax, not when it's completed - although this will only be relevant if we are talking about being a matter of minutes late rather than hours.
