@chrissivad did a fantastic job of updating the ticker, but he’s not omnipresent so it isn’t always up to date. It’s unrealistic to expect that either.

The ITK thread never used to be a place to spam with whining and moaning, that’s what it became at times over the last month. What Trix is saying is completely valid, he’s not asking people to act like a cult and be positive about every single snippet, he’s just asking that people think before posting.

I'm probably reading his complaints wrong then. To me they seem to have a preeminent focus on negative reactions to his information. Not repetition, not off topic, not irrelevant, he seems to be mainly bothered by negative reactions.

For what it’s worth I have enjoyed the thread being more open to transfer links and approved twitter posts, as they are a useful source of info alongside the ITK stuff.

But I think the stricter moderation is definitely needed, people need to think “does this post add anything to the thread, and is bumping this thread for an unfunny knob gag necessary.”

We share what we hear, which is extremely accurate at the time. The majority i/we share behind closed doors. One of the main reasons is the fall-out and negativity when and if it does not transpire. Like the two signings were earmarked as soon as Paratici took over, and we thought Conté was coming.

Great work by the mods here. The majority of SC’s on here are a joy. There are a few that needs to ‘chillax’ as I call it. Because we state what we hear, nothing is nailed on until the club announces it

Seriously though, I agree that stricter moderation is good, it got a bit out of hand over the window. I just don't want those of us that don't think everything is rosy in our recruitment department to be excluded from the conversation.

One of the more exciting times for me being a Spurs fan is when the transfer windows are open and I can come on here and eagerly scroll through this thread looking for the blue posts.

To be honest I've maybe posted in the ITK thread a handful of times over the years i've been on here, it's usually a very strict thread but thats fine, I just won't risk posting in it so I don't get banned and take my comment to the relevant thread if i'm not 100% sure.

It's really not a big deal or difficult for that matter.

There is a colossal difference between having a negative reaction to a specific piece of ITK and using this thread as an all-purpose dumping ground for moaning about what you think the current state of the club/window might be, especially when it doesn’t even line up with what ITKs are saying.

I appreciate all the info you guys share, I think it's fascinating. But you have to realize that not everything is going to be greeted with adulation (even if you think it's positive), saying that, it did go too far with some this window and I'm sure the ban stick will be pulled from retirement for the summer.

I don't expect it to all be positive, I've said that time and time again and also listed in this thread the type of posts I'm talking about ffs. It's not difficult and I'm sorry but it's not really up for debate. I have to be consistent here I guess and the line I throw out to everyone else is if you don't enjoy the thread avoid it. If it goes back to the mess it was this window I'll simply follow my own advice and I doubt I'll be alone in that. Like I said it's up to you guys what you'd prefer, but an itk thread without itk is going to be far less fun imo.

Well then you really need to read them again. I don't think I could be much clearer. If that was how I saw it you wouldn't have had the cavalry charge I was leading against Levy and the club regarding the managerial clusterfuck in the Summer.

The post containing "I don't think you understand how much of a grind it was to wade through pages and pages of negative bs" was the one that lead me in that direction, because it was all centred about negativity.

There's plenty of positive bs you have to wade through in this thread as well that doesn't seem to be mentioned much. I for one could do without ten posts about wanking every time there's info that people like the sound of.

But if negativity wasn't the problem then I apologise

Saw a Trevor Noah video earlier with a similar analogy to what I'm about to use. ITK is like when you ask someone the time. The ITK will tell you it's 5pm. A couple of hours later it's not 5 anymore, but people will go on about how the information is wrong and start complaining. That doesn't mean the information was wrong when posted though.

These behind the scenes things are fluid and constantly changing, hence why people should take everything with a healthy grain of salt.

I think to summarise:

1. Lets go back to the old formula in here - it was fun to try something different but its now proven that relaxed rules cause a shit show

2. Bellends need to stop being bellends. If you dont like Levy or ENIC take it to that thread. Stop spam moaning just because you want to be heard...nobody cares!

3. People have to accept that others may not find some of the ITK as positive and it doesnt make them bedwetters etc

4. We all love ITK and appreciate them so lets not run them away

5. We are all ****s with a singular shared braincell. Only thing that separates us is that I am well hung and better looking.

6. We need that optimistic rating back...

It's not addressing the issue just moving the problem elsewhere! If the people providing the ITK say they like the other way better, and Rob & others agree who run the place. Then I would rather keep the people ITK than the general chat in here that can go elsewhere .

Player thread for general chat, ITK chat for any ITK that has come out.... The clue to it is in the name of the thread, yet some people still can't understand

If the itkers want it that way then fair enough. Without them there would be much less itk and we live for it!

But speaking as just a poster, I really don't get why it bothers other posters so much now that we also have a ticker thread and player threads. It's more a curiosity to me.

I view the itk thread like match threads, they're fun when we're playing well and absolutely miserable when we're not.

Actually, thinking out loud, why not just have a "the negative transfer window thread"... Altho probably part of the fun of moaning is to piss in the cornflakes of supporters who are optimistic ?
