Yeah I read it as that. Signing both would mean we'd have to get rid of someone else if GKN is coming in. Son a possibility but I think he'll stay. N'Jie is probably off anyway as soon as GKN comes in.

If we did sign Isco I would expect us to sell Son for around £25-30million soon after. As sad as I would be at Son leaving - if it meant we got Isco I'd be delighted.

I'm pretty sure this Isco link is all a massive blag conjured up by A&C as part of an elaborate donation drive agenda for the closing of the transfer window. Who has the all seeing eye now, eh!!??

JJ has indicated elsewhere that it's too easy for the club to trace info back these days, so he is laying low and waiting for the press to break news ...

On the topic of the Goats ITK, perhaps the Club don't see Isco and Zaha as comparible players (they aren't) but as option 1 & 2 based upon the fact that it would be a big fee and it's one or the other.... ? (Or neither!)

Given that it took c.£100 million for Madrid to prise Bale away from us, what do we think it's going to take for them to let us have Isco?

We've supposedly got first refusal on Bale. Maybe we can give them first refusal on Isco back to them, first refusal on Loris and also Kane? Doesn't mean they'll go but the promise of first dibs?

Lots of tasty rumours simmering in the pot now. I'm looking forward to an old skool bonkers evening tomorrow, starring Deadline Dan Levy.

Don't know if I can do this to myself. Let's be honest, even if Isco agrees to leave what's to stop Chelsea coming in and gazumping us again? They wanted James and couldn't get him. Can imagine that wank puffin Fabregas tapping him up for them.

I think we will go for Isco not matter what happens. We will go for Zaha if we sell Son. Isco is coming in place of Mason, Carroll and Chadli. Let's do it Dan the man.

It's not Isco or Zaha; it's Isco and Zaha.

> The Zaha deal we'll try and get done regardless of what else happens. (I still firmly believe.)

> The alternative to Isco is nobody. If we can get him, cool. If we can't, we'll crack on with what we have. If Isco does come though, it's Son who'll make way, to Wolfsberg, from whom we already have a great offer.

A bit odd that the alternative to Isco is Zaha. They aren't at all similar players.

Perhaps the intention would be to move Lamela inside to no.10 should that be the outcome? He quite often ends up around that area of the pitch with the ball anyway, and played there at River.

Regardless of what you think of Zaha as a player, bidding 12 million for any player and then bidding 21 million for the same player four days later (as reported by the Guardian) defies credibility. It was a similar load of nonsense with Berahino last year.

Despite all of the progress we've made in recent years, doing this business just before the deadline sabotages the early stages of the season. It's not like that wasn't important to us last season. Proper clubs shouldn't behave this way, no matter what financial level you're operating on.

I'd imagine the black box guy we poached from Southampton can't wait til he's served out his time and moves on. If you value the contribution of Janssen & Wanyama from pre-season onwards, you should apply that strategy broadly.

I can't resist, but if we get Isco oh lord!

The idea of him not wanting to leave makes me think one thing. He likes playing with the best in the world every single day and it is less attractive to come to an uncertain future.

But God to me that is what life is about. Taking the uncertain and seeing what comes of it. He has won everything in Spain, so open a new chapter. Or fuck it, start a whole new book.

Make him believe Poch!
