I dislike Sissoko for the way he's treated Newcastle, and his behaviour over the last 18-24 months. But a motivated and determined Sissoko working in a Poch system would be an absolute beast. Just a question of whether you can get it out of him. The talent is there. The attitude is another question.

I think this is our fall-back plan should we not (very likely) get Isco. Unless we are going to let Son leave.

Before knee jerk and negatives... You could start to think Poch's philosophy doesn't suit our club.

He seems to be veering towards physicality, brute strength and fitness.

That's all well and good but when 7/10 teams we play will set up 2 banks of 4 against us, it's no use. These players thrive off of counter attacking and there being space to play in.

Some may argue we are building a team of athletes not footballers.

Maybe Newcastle have just dropped their asking price?

Thing is they were asking £35m which was putting others off. If he is now available for less then how many others will now be interested?

IMO, it sound like if we can get it over the line, then Sissoko will be it. If we cant, then GKN and Lopez will be it.

GKN, Lopez and Sissoko. I mean, I guess its an okay window but certainly doesnt exactly improve the squad. Losing 3 players who played significant minutes and only bringing in 1 replacement when we were already a bit short on depth last year doesnt exactly fill me with confidence. Feel like we missed yet another opportunity to show some ambition and we fucked around for another summer where we got CL. We have a stadium to build, yes. But lets be honest, do we really expect it to change when the stadiums built? We'll still have to pay off the loan then.

Not jazzed about Sissoko. He had a good euros but as far as I could see displayed next to no passion last season as a senior player in a Newcastle side that should have been way too good to go down.

Has the quality but I can't get excited about this and certainly not at the prices being quoted.

"Everyone knows, I often said it when I was young, Arsenal is the club of my heart, because there were quite a few French players there like Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Sylvain Wiltord, Patrick Vieira who was my idol…

"The beautiful Arsenal. We will see. I cannot tell you if I am going to go to Arsenal. For the moment, I am focused on the French national team and the Euros.

Fuck right off ****

Have you seen the size of Harry Winks and Marcus Edwards - they make Tom Carroll look like The Hulk

Or you could think of players in our squad like Eriksen, Lamela, Alli, Winks, Onomah, and Son who are anything but physical and think that what we've been missing is some physicality and athleticism.

Either Isco or Sissoko would replace Son. Not both. If we do either deal Son goes to Wolfsberg.

Hopefully the GKN and Njie panto will have been worthwhile too.

Hope Wee Tom exits stage left as well.

The books will be balanced.

Don't agree one bit. Son will stay, and we will do more business. Constant obsession with book balancing is so grating. Especially when a "net spend" isn't actually done over the course of a season.

I agree. We've been linked with sissoko a few times since Poch has been our manager so he obviously likes him. I don't want us to sign him though obviously

Sissoko actually makes more sense now that Bentaleb and Mason are gone, as it would give us cover at both slots in Poch's favored formation (ie Dier/Wanyama, Dembele/Sissoko). And if we really got 13 mil (!) for Mason, I would take a trade of Mason + Pritchard for Sissoko...

We need attacking midfielders with passion. Sissoko will not deliver. The rush for his signature by the top clubs was frightening.
