At the moment (not including the 'youth' players) we have 20 first teamers including N'Jie and Carroll. Fazio and Bentaleb are down as loans but they are effectively out the door. Considering 2 are GK's that leaves a squad of 18 experienced players for a CL season. Considering we have the lowest average age of any squad in the Prem, I would suggest we add a couple of either CL or Prem experienced players that add a winning mentality. I think Onomah's flawed cameo at the weekend only highlighted this. We can bring through the kids to a point, but not if we want to be serious challengers across all fronts.

We tried for Wijnaldum, now Zaha and Isco look likely to fall through. However, is this really the standard of player that is going to help us in the Prem of CL? Zaha Man U reject and Isco RM reject? We are already 4 points adrift after 3 games and TBH City, Utd and Chelsea have all strengthened

Kante, Batshuayi, Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Sane, Gundogan, Stones, Nolito, Jesus, Bravo.

Kante is a match winner, Ibrahimovic is a match winner and City have bought a whole new bench.

We need a proven Prem player like Payet or Mahrez that can unlock defences and turn games. We drew too many games last year and this season we have started on the same path. Poch can get the best out of players, but how long will it take?

I see some people are at that stage of false belief in what may come. Me, I'm happy that for at least another transfer window, for a fleeting second we all (bar those who didn't) went down that rabbit hole, holding hands with 'let the Sunshine in' blaring as we went.

Chin up fellas, we're all in this together!!! :D :p (y)

Only Spurs can be linked with both Sissoko and Isco, two completely different players but likely it will only be 1. I think Sissoko sounds less appealing because of the Isco talk. He's still a good player and an improvement over Mason/Carroll. However Isco is the key ingredient that we're missing. The difference is one is a good squad player the other is a improvement to the first 11.

It wouldn't be a deadline day if we didn't swing from despair at the likes of Sissoko and Zaha to dreaming of an Isco. At least it's interesting again now. I thought after signing Wanyama and Janssen early and Nkoudou seeming to be done weeks ago it might be an uneventful end to the window.

Apparently...

AS claim Mauricio Pochettino has already spoken to Isco and the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has interest in going on loan to either Tottenham or former club Malaga.

Malaga it is then...
