Guys, the point is that the players seem to be enjoying working with AVB which is great news. Identity of the player is completely irrelevant.

OK

I see our old friend attention deficiency disorder is paying us a visit again. FFS.....the identity of the source has not got anything at all to do with the content. It could be anyone and the info would still be the same. So let's take it for what it is and I'll ask once again please stop the guessing games, there really is no point to it.

*insert any/each and every chuffed to bits Tottenham player that is currently traning under one of the most forward thinking young, brilliant coaches in the world and is enjoying it more than last year's 'let's have a giggle' pre-season tug-of-war training under Harry, here*

FTR, I am not trying to guess the informant, just pointing out the seemingly obvious that it has to be an existing player for them to comment on the week of training just gone...

I can't remember which player it was, might have been Dawson, but they were saying how it was good to be working with the ball already in training, rather than just running around fields.

If AvB's training can get our players in absolutely top notch shape, all the time with a ball at thier feet and enjoying it, rather than boring the shit out of them, which is what you usually hear in pre-season, then it should bode well for team spirit and a good start to the season.

I really cannot wait for the USA tour to start.

The Goat is often JJ
JJ is Jenas

Therefore Jenas is just telling us that he's enjoying working with AVB, especially as AVB has made him the lynchpin of our new side...

The news re the training and the feel around the club and AVB sounds really promising. I cannot wait for the season to start. Not just to see the new players, but also to see how the team behaves. Desperately want to see a hard working unit working together. With the flair in the team coupled with the hard working ethic and skills that we are seeing suggested, next season could well eclipse all our expectations. COYS!

I want to take a guess at the asterisks.

Or Asterix, who is a short combative Gaul.

Now had Robbie Keane still been here, I would have went with him thinking Goat knows that the Franks are Germans who ran the original Gauls out and the remains of that Roman foil are the Irish, Scots and some Bretons. Plus he's short and kick all of our ass in fight club. But I should have talked about that.

So the only other original Gaul would be Bale, who isn't commutative nor short.

If we just go on short though, it could be Modric (doubtful) or GDS

So since we have no short comparative Gauls, It could be the more corrupted understanding of Gaelic as French as our Asterix. Which means Benny or Kaboul (this his tweet last night). Or maybe even Lloris as it can be read in future tense type way.

Or I could be wrong and ****=unspeakable and more ********* means Thunder ****. That would make me think Terry, but that's absurd, so it could be Levy who is definitely a Thunder **** when negotiating.

Oh FFS… No, it doesn't. Read it again.

Don't swear at me, especially when you're wrong. The original post is so badly worded that it just leaves it open to inference. If it had said ***is really excited to BE workING with him, we could safely assume that he was already there working with him.
As it is it doesn't and leaves it open to interpret that he hadn't yet. As it is it's actually in the same sentence that states about a siege mentality at chelsea and would theoretically thus be reasonable to assume this second part is referring to someone who worked at chelsea with him.

If you guys don't want people to read things in to every little thing that's posted then the text that people are quoting should be written properly and be grammatically correct enough so that things can't be read ambiguously.

A n C, that's fine if I'm wrong about what i've assumed from the original then ok, but you have to be careful about about how these goat posts are put together if you don't want people to run with something that isn't there.

It sounds like AVB is working hard on getting the same togetherness at Spurs that he had at Porto. I think he'll have a lot more joy here than at player power dominated Chelsea.

As for the young Forest centre back, it's nice to see us continue our approach to signing some of the most promising young homegrown talent. I wonder if he'll go straight back on loan, possibly stay with Forest for a year?

I like Villas-Boas, he seems to be very focused and know what he has to do here. Its not a team of winners or "stars" he has to win over. It's mostly young, ambitious and maybe a little bit meek group of players.

I hope he doesn't start doing stuff like stopping the public from watching training or some of the good stuff Harry did like getting people from the community in etc.

Bloody good news from the Goat! Really pleased to hear that Andre is going down well with our lads. It's early days, but he doesn't appear to be allowing his experiences with Abromovich and Co to deter him from his passion for and vision of the game. In fact, he appears to be learning from his mistakes and you can't ask for more than that. It speaks volumes about the real Andre rather than the one who's been invented by the media. In all likelihood, he's a good manager and a decent bloke who ran into a wholly unreasonable bunch of *****s at Chavski. It can't have been easy to deal with, and he made mistakes, but I should think he's got more of an idea of how to deal with that kind of dissent now. I suspect that anyone expecting the same kind of stories of discontent to leak out of our camp is going to be disappointed.

Gist of the conversation from ************ was that AVB is not as arrogant as the media say - the players enjoyed training and AVB has 'good banter' and was joking around with the players and taking the piss. Said that he doesn't have the same seige mentality he developed at Chelsea as it isn't needed and that ************* is really excited to work with him.

the above bolded bits show how you're wrong. you can assume it's open to interpretation, but only if you're short-sighted with a point to prove.

it's obviously someone who has first hand knowledge of the training that went on this week. if you can't see that, i feel bad for you, son.

Why does it actually matter? Does it matter who said it? In my opinion no, the important part is that the players seem to be happy with AVB which was a concern considering the issues he was deemed to have in his last job.

A&C has done nothing wrong and has stated that we should not be reading into things so much, so stop.

No, it's not particularly well worded. However, it's clearly in the present tense, so Mr Asterisk, whoever he is, has equally clearly been present at training this week. Nor are you in a position to complain about others' sloppy grammar.

FFS…

Yes. This isn't the thread to be guessing the name all day.

A&C, which player thread should we take this 'guess the player' into? ;);):D

I jest.

Anyway, I was expecting a certain amount of 'players enjoying training' news coming from the club in the first week, almost as a pre-prepared press release to help AVB slot in, but a lot of the players really sound genuinely impressed and enjoying things.

Probably the best news we could be getting, quite frankly!

Considering how we got ITK that a number of players expressed their concern at the overall lack of training structure under Aitch, I really would expect them to react positively, in all honesty.

I wonder if AVB's 'relaxed' demeanor has something to do with the 'warm heart/soul (hands?) at the club that he mentioned.

As soon as I saw the asterix's, I thought to myself "I bet people start trying to guess the player" on here. It's a part of this place's charm, you don't get this shit anywhere else. :D Everyone's a detective.

People in this thread can be likened to robotic information collecting drones, in the mould of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit:

Johnny 5: "INPUT!"... "INPUT!"..."NEED INPUT!"
A&C: "Johnny 5 I have warned you about rules, and trolling these forums with your incessant information collecting!"
Johnny 5: Me not understand...me only understand INPUT! Who is this player this other human speaks about? INPUT! INPUT! NEED INPUT!"

Or even the Terminator...

"Listen, and understand. That Troll-inator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until it works out what player the asterix's represent!

no. just something to chat about :D anyway, i'm not guessing, just noting how someone fails at reading comprehension
