Ah, "Spuds". How cute.

Good read though, some of it seems a bit too good to be true though - especially the Lloris part.

lol at the use of the term "sugar daddy". Although, given our recent spending, it might be more applicable now!

That Spuds nickname is so unfunny it's unbelievable that they have rode with it for so long.

Wow, would be incredible if true. Wonder whats the reason Joe Lewis has decided to do this now? Maybe all along he has been waiting for the club to be in the right position before committing this level of funding.

Money doesn't = success but it gives you a damn sight better chance of it!

I'm certain it is that. Right now Tottenham's global profile is the highest its been for many, many years. The premiership is watched around the world, and despite not getting into the Champions League it was plain to see we were playing the most exciting, attractive football in the country, and with a less distracted manager we could have walked 3rd. This is the perfect time to push on financially.

I guess that info will look even more convincing if Lloris signs before Monday.

A few weeks ago JJ said that Lewis has always played a far more active role than we've believed. I think it suited him to have us picturing him lounging on that floating gin palace of his or paying Tiger silly money for a round of golf. And I'm sure you're right. Now is the time for him to commit himself.

That post may turn out to be bullshit, but it's very plausible bullshit.

Massive hard on after reading that.

The Modric on 105k and Lewis a massive spurs gave me some doubt, but it ruined my excitement so decided to ignore.

I want to believe it but if the roles were reversed and I came about some big news that the scum fans want like RVP will stay they will spend 100mil plus ect ect I wouldn't sound so excited in how I worded the info like that scum fan has about our club

Joe Lewis is 75. If I was a multi billionaire, who spent my all my days relaxing on a yacht in the Bahamas, and was in my twilight years - I'd start throwing my money around a bit more too, I'd want to build a legacy. After all, you can't take all those billions with you... what's the point? Maybe this is his reasoning... why he's all of a sudden more flexible with the purse strings.

All we've been hearing for years though is how Lewis has pretty much zero interest in football, and there certainly hasn't been anything to suggest that he is a "massive Spurs fan".

It takes money to make money, maybe he sees this is the optimal time to invest in the club for a few years and then sell.
