I'd pay 15m and Modric to get Benzema. I think he's the most complete striker in the world.

Dragon1 on COYS this time re: Duncan Castles saying that Moutinho deal is off:
Dragon1 said:
Castle is close to AVB so don't dismiss him so readily

Porto aren't gona give him away esp if we've just got 40 for luca,he would like to play for AVB though and hopefully a compromise will be struck

Are foreign players affected more by the new Spanish tax laws?

Not really no. They used to pay what was called the beckham tax 22% but this was stopped a couple of years ago. It will depend on their deal with the club who pays the tax.
There have been massive problems in Spain with a lot of players not getting paid leading to a strike last summer.

Ok realistically where could Falcao move? Real Madrid, Barca? I doubt it! Which leaves premiership teams. Arsenal to replace RVP? Chelsea to replace Drogba? Man City because they don't want any other team to have him? Man Utd to replace Berba and Owen? Then you have Spurs who are in desperate need of strikers and supposedly have some big money coming their way. Yet people on here are adamant we have no chance!

Inter / ac Milan + juventus... Especially if psg wraps up ibrahimovic.

Bayern likes that sort of player as well, and may look to pair mandzukic with falcao if they allow two of gomez, mueller or robbed to leave...

Think mandzukic is to replace olic...

The Tax laws in Spain only meant that non Spanish players benefited from the reduced rate. This has now changed in line with their own top rate, 52% for anyone earning over €300,000 a year for year 2012/13 (so all footballers) but overseas players on existing contracts still only pay the reduced rate. Spain's top earners now pay more tax than those in the EPL!
Benzema signed a 6 year deal in 2009 so hence has another 3 season on this reduced tax rate.

I ain't even gonna try and figure out what exactly what went on today.

only

1) By ignoring my Asterisks comment, you hurt me A&C
2) who expected Moutinho to go smoothly? We don't do simple and it being suddenly "complex" is neither a sign of the Apocalypse nor the Rapture. I imagine all ITKs will be kind of correct on this for a while as it carries on.
3) Falcao. Love Aquaman for being the shittiest of DC heroes and the most positive of SC ITK'ers. Kind of feel that our inquiry is legit. And we're using it to account for the Modric money (and we'll end up with AL). I don't think we will actually go all in for Captain America's best bud.
4) Made two super hero jokes. Doesn't matter. Had sex. Okay....yes it was with my hand.

If we end the transfer window with Lloris, Vertonghen, Moutinho (in for Modric), Sigurdsson, Adebayor and Leandro...I normally consider myself to be one of the more grounded, slightly pessimistic Spurs fans with regards to our ambitions.

But with that much of an influx of quality into the squad, you'd genuinely have to be looking at winning the league. Good God, I can't believe I said that.

And that's without including Caulker's return, Walker having another year of experience and development, Sandro hopefully shaking off the niggling injuries he had last year and Bale actually being given instructions on how not to roam around doing whatever he pleases all the time.

I am crazy excited about being a Spurs fan right now.

Well today is the deadline Lyon set for Lloris. Lets see what happens. Hopefully Adebayor could be officially announced and that we have agreed fee with Lyon for Lloris

That gives us a week for 2 more towards before we go stateside

Not the deadline, it's when Aulas said he wanted it done by... but the player is on his honeymoon until today. I don't see how those two match up properly. Agree the fee without Lloris and then discuss when he gets back? Maybe..

He wasn't the only one that reported that, given Jose's attitude at the time, it seemed plausible.

Plus people are allowed to change their minds.

Dragon1 is wrong about tax rates in Spain. They have gone up unless I'm massively mistaken
