Holtby, Livermore, Siggy, Carroll and the fella from Twente who can play just about anywhere apparently. So with Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele first choice, that's a group of eight players for three positions in my mind. Paulinho can cover Sandro as the DM, the Holtby comes into the equation etc...the way we'll most likely line up. Livermore is our third option for that slot etc.

Holtby can cover Dembele/Paulinho. Loads of options there to mix it up given the amount of games we'll have to play.

If you're counting 3 positions you can even throw Bale into the mix. Not sure both Livermore and Carroll will/should be around next season, butvI'm not concerned about CM..

I think it's the cover for Sandro that I'm most concerned about. I see Holtby as cover for Dembele, Livermore as cover for Paulinho (although cover that we can certainly improve on) and Carroll as something a bit different. I think Siggy is more of a forward option really.

Also...which fella from Twente?

Paulinho and Sandro could cover one another ?

Carroll will be. AVB used him more and more as the season went on last year! Livermore is a goner though!

Townsend and Carroll should both get a look next season!

Pauliho would cover Sandro though, he played that deeper/defensive role for Brazil in the CC. Livermore as a third option for the DM spot.

Nacer Chadli.

Whilst I feel people should be prepared to hold their hands up and admit mistakes have you ever heard Levy admit to any mistakes? ;)

I'm sure Levy has admitted mistakes, but like every chairman in the country they don't do it publicly, and we shouldn't expect it.

He knows what we are all wanting, but he won't make the mistake of paying over the odds for something in case that ends up being a mistake.

Yes risks need to be taken sometimes, but paying way over the odds I totally agree with Levy's policies. If we can spend wisely, and keep improving the team each season without doing a Leeds, then once the stadium is built and allows us to compete better, then occasionally risks will be able to be taken at a higher level.

Stunned that Parker is on 70k. Decent player but that's way more than I thought Levy would have given him. With him and big Tom departing we'll make significant cuts on wages added in what are already saving from Gallas and Bentley.

He was our best player in his first season and was one of the best in the league before that.
He'd also been at Chelsea and Newcastle which would have bumped up his wages over the years. West Ham would never have signed him unless they offered a decent sum.
So its pretty easy to see why he's on what he's on.
And he's earned it imo.

Ah. I thought Chadli was more attacking again.

I still think there is room for improvement in the midfield and I think the step down in quality from Paulinho/Sandro/Dembele to the rest is a bit concerning, but it certainly isn't the main area for us to be focusing on.

If the ITK earlier in the window is to be believed we're still looking to bring in 4 other players. Presumably that's two strikers, a wide forward and...a left back?

Pretty sure the plans will have changed by now though.

Why?
He is the most passionate Spurs through and through player we have. It's a massive shame if he doesn't make it here. Unfortunately it looks like he won't!

Think Townsend may be a little more passionate than livermore judging by his changing room hijinks...

He's the one I really want to make it...

Really, mate? Or perhaps when the stadium is built, it will be offered as a reason why we won't be able "to compete better": I can already see the posts on SC, "what do u expect? We can't afford Player X, we got a stadium to pay for".

I don't mind either of Huddlestone or parker moving on this season, parker has been great for us but was badly burn't out towards the end of last season and is totally useless in the side when we face teams at the lane that are just coming to defend. Huddlestone, despite everyones claims about his passing, dwells on the ball far too much and leaves too much work for the other centremids to do defensively for me, much happier to see Carroll get more of a chance as think he can offer us something creativitly.

This is the truth! We can't compete financially now as the stadium is too small. When the stadium is finished we will have to pay it off! Basically this club is run as a business so it can't compete on the field with those that aren't and the currency of the business is the fans!

This...I'm gutted for the lad,him and his whole family are THFC through and through.
if he were 10 years older he'd probably have played most of his career for us,but the level we are at now ,and are looking to achieve is above what he can offer.
I don't understand the hatred displayed towards him from some posters though, wishing he was a gooner? Pathetic.

He definitely is I think. But could, perhaps cover, the more attacking slot of the three?

I don't think it will be a massive shame if he does not make it with us, as I don't think has the talent too. What I do hope is that we move him on sooner rather than later as I want him to have a good career, something he won't get if he stays as he is not good enough to get picked above others.
