We don't though; I hate when people say this. We have potentially hundred's of millions to spend theoretically speaking. Just because Levy and co. felt justified forking out 20 million on two players; doesn't mean he will find a deal worthy of that in his eyes again this window. I'm sure if Messi came up for £50 million and wanted to come here; Levy would go for it. That's not to say we have '50 million' burning a hole in our pockets.
That's true. The point being is that there is clearly money available should the right thing come along.
So to say we 'can't afford' Benteke or, anyone else based purely on the transfer price, is to miss the point.
Should a deal come along that is deemed decent value, then the Croat kids is an example that Levy is willing to splash the cash. Which as I mentioned in my original post, is a way to take some positive out of the failed deal for those youngsters.
