I decided not to get involved in yesterdays ITK madness. Why? Because I knew exactly what was going to happen.
Levy's good at what he does, but also lucky. The VdV signing last summer proves this.
The worst thing about this whole mess, is that the party line coming out of the club for the past 5 years has been 'get CL, build the profile of the club, and return to the top table of English and European football'. Well, we got there, done all that, then threw it all away in the space of 2 transfer windows. CL football was the catalyst to attract the next level of player that would keep us in the top4 and beyond. But in the end we tried to cut corners, do it on the cheap, wheel and deal, and in the end got absolutely nowhere.

At the time, Comolli was the right man at the wrong time, and probably partnered with the wrong manager(s). Levy never expected Harry to take to the levels that he has, and there lies the rub. Now we are where we are, do we return to a more continental style of manager with the DOF system in place, or continue with what we have and just put it down to a couple of poor transfer windows? Personally, I've got no idea.

It's a sad sorry, embarrassing mess. And H, (it would appear) has now alienated 2 of our 3 strikers by telling them 'stay or go, but we are upgrading' (if itk's are to be believed), and for me has indicated that he's a little out of his depth, and maybe slightly losing interest with the prospect of England on the horizon.

Sorry about the ramble, but for me, a little bit of my love and respect for our club has died over the last few days. My overall feelings now for football as a whole are apathy and a sense of 'what's the point'

Have a nice day.

just seen the ITK by Dragon, strange that i went in there -

You kinda have to think that Harry believes he is still at Pompey to believe he can still wheel and deal, this is TOTTTENHAM FFS.

Having Harry and Levy to deal with the transfers is a marriage made in heaven, one that is tight with the money and the other thinking i can sniff a haggle!!

Looking at our transfer policy or captures pre and post Harry makes you wonder; none over the 12m, Pompey were shafted on the sale of Defoe and Crouch. Kranjar, Kaboul the same bargain, VDV was just a fluke similar to C Adams yesterday but this time around it fell through.

Now look at other top clubs, i don’t see the Liverpool owner travelling to Holland to tie up the deal, or Roman sailing down to Liverpool to chat with Nando, however at Spurs it is all different.

All i am sayin, gave us a goal.

I'll still get behind the team but will always remember from a couple of years back how we couldn't get the players we wanted because apparently they all wanted to be playing CL football. We now are playing CL football and still can't get them. I think it's just money that talks these days City haven't got CL football but get the players they want because they shell out the dosh ( I know there's a very good chance they'll have it next season, but it wasn't guaranteed when the players signed for them).
I can't help but feel we've missed a golden opportunity to cement our place in the top 4. I also wonder what the likes of VDV, Bale & Modders feel about no new signings ? They must know there's areas that need addressing ?

Anyway let's just hope that things pan out and we can start creating chances. We could have signed the greatest striker in the world but he still needs the opportunity to be made to score, and there hasn't been that many good chances for our hitman recently I don't think, Defoe needs a certain type of service and he's not getting it.

Woody's coming back, Hudd shortly too. Bale hasn't got to have an op, no striker coming in will focus our three up top. Have faith, be positive, the window is shut - time to move on.

Carroll will be talked about in 5 years time as maybe the best centre forward in the world, he is far better at 22 than Shearer was and look how Shearer turned out, fees of £50-60m will be talked about in terms of him, wouldn't be surprised if he gets 25+ goals next season

He is a combination of Shearer and Berbatov with a bit of Mark Hughes thrown in and it is a fuck up of all fuck ups that we didn't get him

The £35m will turn out to be a snip

so 11 goals in the premiership after 17 in the championship is enough to warrant that? what were you saying about marcus stewart when he had a great season for ipswich?

do me a favour man he has had 4 good months where even long range shots where going in for him. the 8th dearest player ever, to quote another andy, do me a favour love

Dragon's ITK is a bit confusing, on one hand he blames Levy, then says we agreed a deal (presumably Suarez) only for Redknapp to back out. Then goes on to blame Redknapp's small team mentality and scouting.

I think it's just a frustrated rant.

Hudd might not make the end of the season!

Even for you, this statement scales new heights of speculative garbage. Quite why you bother to remain a Spurs supporter is beyond me. Without exception, every post that you have made over the last few days has been critical, pessimistic and unrealistic. Please accept my congratulations as the first SC'er that I have ever felt it necessary to put on ignore. Thank goodness I now won't have to read your mindless drivel any more.

I reckon he's just angry at the situation

My point was that Matt was making out that we had missed out on a player who will turn out to be phenomenal but Man City and Chelsea both looked elsewhere when buyiong a new striker. If he was a good as Matt made out they'd have signed him instead.
True enough. Either way, Pav, Defoe and Crouch are going to have start earning the phat gobs of money they are paid for us to stand a chance. If they don't, then frankly, get rid of them in the summer. Regardless of whether we manage CL, Europa league or miss out on both.

They have all been fucking shit. That Pav is the best of the lot with 6 goals and we're in February tells the story.

It all just goes to show the old adage is true:
You can take the manager out of the small-time club but you can't always take the small-time club out of the manager.
1/4 mill for P Nev, bidding for C Adam with 15 mins to go.
Do me a favour.
The current "strike" force may well prove me wrong (God, I hope they do) but I just can't see us now getting 4th this year.
