Good moaning everyone

As most of you know, yesterday we had our first donation drive of the transfer window.

So how did we do? - We raised about £300 with approx 30 people donating and we'd like to thank all of you who donated. That covers us for less than a month so we need a lot more and we'll have another go in a week or so.

I don't know the ins and outs of the technical side of things but I would imagine if cuts have to be made, it'll be the server capacity during busy times that suffers, which means no ITK Forums or possibly a culling of members allowed to access it. So come on, if everyone who uses and enjoys SC, or even just this part of the site were to sling in a few quid a month, we'd be sorted.

So, if you'd like to donate, there's a donation link below as well as on the front or home page of the site. We use Paypal but you don't need an account with them, you can use your card in the same way as making any other online purchase. If you want to send a postal order/cheque, please PM myself or Rob
All donations are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Here, have a little ditty to the tune of the theme song to The Adventures of Robin Hood

Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood
He has got the job
Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood
Makes some of us sob
Feared that he might
Have the job for good
Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood

He has the greatest players
That Spurs have ever seen
He vowed to get us top 4
That remains to be seen
Half want him in
Or sack him if they could
Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood

Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood
He has got the job
Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood
Makes some of us sob
Feared that he might
Have the job for good
Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood, Tim Sherwood

Ari Gold on SO posted that he knew that we'd actually bid for a player the other day and said that he'd reveal who if it hit the papers:

I said as soon as it was mentioned in public... man of my word.

The player I was talking about a few days back was Karl Darlow

Forest GK, can't say I know much about him, but we do need a back-up GK that doesn't have arthritis.

I hear you.

It's quiet OK? Plus it's a potential purchase. Anyone else got anything like that? o_O
Nope, everyone else is providing info on the sale of 7th choice central midfielders. ;)

Found this article interesting.

Steven Defour is to tell Porto he wants to leave, with Anderlecht favourites to claim the midfielder's signature.

Defour's agent Paul Stefani has told the Belgian media that the 25-year-old is anxious to move and secure regular first-team football - given he has started just six games so far this season.

Aston Villa are known to be keen, and Stefani says they may yet launch a bid - but he predicts a move to Anderlecht is more likely.

"He will tell Porto he wants to leave the club. Porto don't want to sell him and consider him as a player for the future, but with the upcoming World Cup, Steven has to play more games," Stefani is quoted by La Deniere Heure.

"There's a chance he may join Anderlecht. Their general manager, Herman Van Holsbeeck, has always said he would like to sign Steven. Even when he was a player of Standard Liege."

While Anderlecht are favourites, Stefani admits they would consider a Premier League deal.

"To say Anderlecht is not Steven's first choice is wrong. We get a lot of phone calls from agents who promise they can bring Steven to the Premier League," he said.

"For example, an agent telling us Tottenham is interested. So, it's logical we'll wait a little longer to make a decision when we hear Tottenham. But I haven't heard anything of them yet.

"Aston Villa's interest may become imminent, but the interest of Anderlecht is the most concrete since the beginning. They have always said they really want Steven."

I hope you're a man of your word :cautious:

Anyway, Karl Darlow, I know nothing about him... other than his name's Karl Darlow.

We need to sign a goalkeeper who will qualify as Home Grown to keep the squad numbers up.

Isn't he 25?

Whats happened to Jordan Archer I wonder then? I mean i have no idea if he is good or not, but he's come thorugh our Youth setup and is homegrown

He has, but I think that next season he'll still be to young to qualify for a squad place. (21)

I think having Darlow and Archer (providing they're good enough), age aside, would be fine for us as number 2 and 3 keepers. I'd much rather use the international places in the squad for outfield players.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If Lamela wants out Draxler wouldn't be too bad a replacement. We have Holtby to offer in part/ex too...
