Good morning chucklebutts

What a glorious day! Last night we had the first ITK of the window.
The Goat said:
The Goat hears that we're looking at a few loan options for January, Vucinic was mentioned as well as cover at left back, although no names were offered for that position.
Which is pretty much all I have to report.

I wasn't sure which way to go with the round-up this morning, tales of dogging? Maybe a nice ITK related story from the sick and twisted mind from which these things spew? Or another Christmassy related sing song?

Finally and thanks in no small part to AVB, I decided we're shit at songs and we need more atmosphere in this thread, so you got the song. But this time you need to actually sing it. Not just read it. Sing you ****s, sing!

To the tune of Deck The Halls (with boughs of holly)
We've had ITK be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Looks like we won't spend no lolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

So this song we will all bellow,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
For fucks sake not Blue & Yellow,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

See what happens posting Twitter,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
This thread goes right down the shitter
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

We'll sign no-one it's not funny,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Levy sits there counting money,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Hail The ITK's for sharing,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Dunno what rhymes and i'm not caring
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

So we plead to the Spurs nation,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Click the link make a donation,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

And that, for today, is that.

Today's thought of the day: Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof. Basically, we're all ****s.

Excepting me 'natch.

Only 100 odd posts yesterday. The addictive nature yet to properly kick in.

Be interesting to see how long the so called 'big guns' can resist drip feeding info.

Loans are no surprise - I'd expect loads of clubs are looking at them, especially in a World Cup year.

Hmm.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly.

Holly = Willoughby

Willoughby = Wolves of Willoughby Chase

Wolves of Willoughby Chase = We're chasing a wolf

We're chasing a wolf = We're after a Wolfsburg player, which means...

We're going to splash £20m on Luiz Gustavo and you heard it here first.

Or we're getting Jamie O'Hara back on loan (which, given our dealings in Januarys past, seems more likely...)

Cracked it.

I don't know much about Vucinic so o just wicki'd him and it said recently he has become known for removing his shorts when celebrating a goal! I suppose unlike a shirt it doesn't incur a yellow card.:)
Mind you if our other strikers are anything to go on we wouldn't see much of it here.

I liked Vucinic of a couple of years ago, and wanted him a lot when we were heavily linked with him. Haven't got a clue how he is doing now though, although on a loan deal it might not be a bad thing.

how about some rock solid info from cabinessence on ftl ?
Don't shoot the messenger. AVB out has legs. They have clashed. DL sees AVB as arrogant and stubborn which DL takes personally as a lack of respect. DL being stubbornness personified of course will win, but don't expect change till end of season. Be interesting if we have a successful season though. Could end up having a big love-in/clear the air meeting, but then of course AVB would be in a much stronger position and could tell DL to stuff it.
Whatever happened to the old business adage of not having to like someone to work well with them? Sorry Danny, need to grow up!

or does avb stuff go elsewhere?

where is the 'depressing button'?
Whether you like AVB or not the last thing we need at the club is a problem like this
God I hope its not true

Taken with a pinch of salt but if true shows that despite being superb with the financials and infrastructure of the club, when it comes to employing key personnel and working with them Levy does more harm than good.

I've said before that sacking Harry was a hasty decision made for personal reasons and I still believe that.

His record of choosing managers is poor and it seems he just inevitably falls out with everyone in the end. What was it Feguson said, "he's different".

I'm sure they will have clashed. I suspect most chairmen and managers do at some point.

DL can't sack him just because of a personality clash though, and I suspect he wouldn't do so. It would only cross his mind if those personality issues were actually impacting on AVB doing his job, which is only likely to be obvious by the end of the season.

Either way DL won't sack his man now. I don't think DL is the sort of chairman to give a manager 80m+ to spend and then not give him time to sort it out.

As for the transfer window generally, left back is the most glaring area we need to improve on and probably a striker if we continue to lack goals.

Generally though the players are there and I don't expect much investment in January. Reckon it'll be a quiet one throughout the league actually, except at Old Trafford.

Don't like hearing about problems with Andre/Levy but not overly surprising.

The one way to stymie this is success.

Baldini being in place adds a cushion too, for if at some point the relationship becomes untenable, I feel a mite happier knowing Baldini has an influence over hiring rather than just purely Levy alone.

Hope your right but he did give Hoddle a fat transfer budget and then sacked him after 6 games ( not saying he shouldn't have sacked Hoddle but the timing was strange to say the least). So he's got form for this sort of thing.

I'm amazed that Baldini seems to be getting away scot-free with regards to our perceived problems.

As he's supposedly responsible for bringing in the players, it can't look good for him that most of our new acquisitions are still struggling.
