Fuck me he's got to Hotspur Way quickly. Surely would be at least a 4hr job from Roma training to arriving? Don't believe that's true.

I totally agree and this is why I hope my viewpoint is wrong and we still just push for Lamela. I think Bale is gone 100%, there's really no doubt in my mind. It's why I hate this pussyfooting approach at the moment. We've been burned so bad before by doing this and of all times, this is the most important of them all given the magnitude of the transfers involved (Both Bale and Lamela). Having both of these guys in the squad for one year if somehow this were to happen is a good problem to have.

Guess it depends as well whether you believe we have been spending the Bale money prior to getting it (our transfer dealings have been surprising this summer, I don't buy this Lewis injecting money stuff really). If we have and Lamela comes in now, considering we hopefully want two or three more players after this and there isn't really any other news on other outgoings the last week or so, we may become more desperate to shift Bale to balance the books.

If Madrid guess this and stick to a price, then we may look at dealing at £75m, rather than closer to three figures. Put it this way the difference would pay for a Paulinho, or maybe even a Soldado. By blinking first and getting Lamela we may weaken our position somewhat (that's IF we do need to balance the books).

This brinksmanship doesn't look good in football terms, but financially it is a lot of money. Holding off waiting for Madrid to offer £90m plus, rather than needing to accept a lower figure to balance the books... It could be a substantial figure we would lose out on. And if no bid came in... we still have the trump card of being left with Gareth Bale in our squad!

Thought his nickname is Coco?! Both sound like frickin teletubbies

It is and he uses it.

Fun story if you're smart enough to ignore baseball over here. Or before I get flamed "rounders". The Red Sox had a guy named Coco Crisp (still think he plays) and the nickname came because of the actual breakfast cereal Cocoa Crispies. And before you post "that's racist" (which I would), his sisters game him the nickname and it's different when they call each other that. :p

The point being......it's a frigging versatile nickname as it is also used by Channel, some reality TV 'skank' (Mail's words not mine) and Conan O'Brien. :D

Erik Lamela is in the house, ladies and gents.
And you know what, Spurs fans, this can only be a good thing. Spurs have pretty much sealed the deal on £30m Erik Lamela, and he is seen as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale.
That leaves the door open for Bale to have his wish and go to Madrid, which puts an end to this whole sorry saga and means that Tottenham will have a whopping amount of money back in their bank account. Potentially having time to bring a couple more players into the hold.
This is the start of the end of what has been an intense transfer window!

It's not the end...or even the beginning of the end...but it maybe the beginning of the beginning of the end ...Winston Churchill! Hopefully true.

Not quite. He ignored every attempt at getting in touch with him. We never got around to asking him to stop as he never replied!
