Ah, it looks like Griezmann might be going to Atletico for £19.8million. Lallana= £25million. Madness.

I very much doubt we will sign either Griezman or Lovgren.

Does anyone seriously think we will?

No, I think boring things would get in the way like, selling before we buy, transfer valuations and wages.

But it would be lovely to sign a new prospect like Griezmann or Depay to play on the opposite wing to Lamela.

I thought AG had said that he would like to stay in La Liga, Atleti may have financial issues but they really are a much more attractive destination at the moment than we are unless it comes down to pure financials which is unlikely as while Atleti are buried under massive debt i would imagine that their salary offer would very much be in line with what we would offer....

I haven't read anything about him wishing to stay in Spain. If that's the case, we have little chance but I am not sure if Atletico can get him. All I know is that Atli had debts of around 450m in 2011. They've improved that situation but I doubt they've completely addressed it. Unless they can get a third party to help them fund it, like they did with Falcao, they will struggle to finance such a deal.

Why do we do it to ourselves every year?! Get a new boss in, task him with sorting out the problem areas, but not making wholesale, destabiliing major changes, and then rip up the whole thing, start again, and begin the season with two thirds of a new team. Sure, get rid of the dead wood, and bring in three or four key players. But selling Sandro? Vlad? Bringing in two or three new centre-backs? It just seems like too much too soon to me.

Sandro, that would be the fifteen game a season DF you talk of? I don't doubt his talent and potential but we need a DF who actually gets playing time week in week out. As for Vlad, i see no difference whatsoever between him and Dawson. Several times last season he was destroyed for pace playing in a high line system. He just has not got game in my opinion at PL level.

From what I know we have not met there asking price, Saints will sell Lovren and Schneiderlin but for what they think they are worth. Koeman was told that players would leave and was ok with that as long as he got the money to spend. Saints want players gone who want to leave but will happily keep them if they do not get money they are asking.
I worry Arsenal will beat us to it, i really do.

I would imagine we're his preference though. If he was open minded about it and Arsenal wanted him he'd be an Arsenal player already I reckon.

I think he prefers us, due to Pochettino, and Levy is playing on this in order to get the best deal for the Club. I just hope he doesn't take it too far as a player can have a change of heart, especially if he starts to feel frustrated at things dragging out.

Personally I'm not bothered about griezman or lovern ( not at 20m )
MS and a experienced leader type CB and get rid of 4/5 squad players and I'll be happy

Totally agree. We need to build not rip everything up and start again. We all agree we needed a LB and CB, but why sell Vlad leaving us needing another?

I thought in the first half of last season he was the best acquisition we had made. Sure, he needs to learn to be less casual in possession and isn't the dominant aerial CB that Kaboul has been in his prime, but the potential is there. Far more than in some of our other signings.

As for Schneirderlein, good player but for north of £15m when we have Sandro and Capoue, I just don't see the point.

We have other concerns beside the defense. As I 've said before, an injury to Ade or Eriksen and we are suddenly very lacking indeed.

They combined to make just twenty seven starts between them last season. Perhaps that's why Poch is looking ahead?

This Trix fella, on a scale of SpursRaven and @JJetset, how reliable is he?

In all honesty, i don't see us signing Schneiderlin or any midfielder until we have our full squad back in training, theres no point buying any midfielders when Poch has seen absolutely nothing of Dembele, Paulinho, Bentaleb or Chadli.

Have we had our annual references to a £50m 'war chest', and Levy being on the brink of his 'Klinsmann moment' yet? They're usually wheeled out around this time of year aren't they?

He's friends with an agent. I think the agent of J Rod and Lovren. Was the first to give ITK on Poch

true but if he knows Schneiderlin is exactly what he wants then all the others can be is as good as or not as good, I doubt they will all suit him to the same degree therefore his only decision is which one to release. It's not who's best it's who suits Poch best.
Just an aside, I was talking to some Saints fans before the Home game last season and they were adamant he was the real deal more than others in their side.

Suspect Griezmann's agent might be using the tried-and-trusted technique of leaking some "Spurs interest' in his player to just to generate some bids from the European elite.

Something about the way the link suddenly and simultaneously found its way into various different news outlets makes me quite suspicious.

He ranged from the sublime (UTD away) to the ridiculous (WBA away). I think he has shown enough to keep him. Pochettino was recruited to get the best of the players and I would've imagined that young, raw talents like Vlad would be classic cases of where he can make a difference.

Thats why I think he could be a great CB for us, because he has the ability to put in great performances and has the sttributes to suceed. I just think he was struggling to get used to the league (as a lot of CBs do). He came from the Romanian league ffs. At 24, he is more than deserving of another year to get settled. I think he and Jan could be our best pairing

Agree he definitely has potential and is a very good footballer.

Personally, I'd prefer one dominant CB and one ball playing CB. Hence I think Kaboul and Verts would be our best pairing, but is Kaboul ever going to get back to the player he was?

Dawson is clearly the player to make way at this stage, so why sell Vlad and bring about the need to bring in 2 CB's this window.

The information he gives is spot on. Because of where he gets his info from it may not be so wide ranging in regards to Spurs as other ITKs, as he gets it from the other side not our Club.
