My point is, there is no manager who's team plays impressive football every single week. Even Real.

To say that you weren't always impressed, is not much of a criticism. Especially as he was managing Southampton, who have one of the lowest wage bills in the league. What do you expect? For Poch to have finished in the top 4 playing amazing football every single week? A bit of perspective is needed, would Ancelotti have done any better given the same resources at a club like Southampton?
I was being polite.
If I wasn't I'd have said I simply wasn't impressed. I think they were over rated.

I think you should all refer back to my post yesterday, when it comes to how we feel about this new manager. Because lets face it, as one of the very few females that post on here, I'm more likely to talk some sense ;)

You got us by the balls on that one...

Ade is getting unfair treatment IMO. What did Ade do wrong ? Did he volunteer to be out of team ? AVB took him out for his own reasons. Ade wants to remain at our club - atleast one of the few who has voiced such opinion.
I think its time all Spurs supporters treat Ade with the respect he deserves.

Returned to pre-season training weeks late and totally unfit ?

You think that Modric and Bale left because HR wasn't there?
Not because no. But I think he's the sort of guy that would be able to say to them it's worth staying a bit longer.
He's also more likely to talk levy out of seeing the pound signs.

Please don't think I'm a massive Harry fan. I just think he's miles better than AVB and Pochettino.

I bet there's going to be no transfer ITK for weeks after MoPo is appointed.

If it is Poch, why do I have a horrible feeling in my stomach that this choice has been made on the basis that someone who can speak Spanish will turn our two most expensive signings into world class players again and enable us to recoup the club's pounds next summer.

I will support him and i truly hope the fans and Levy get behind him, but something in me just says meh about this appointment and await the swingdoor to open in a few months time. Hope I am wrong and he turns out to be the next Pep or Ferguson
What part of your body/valuable did you offer this time if you were wrong (y)

I think he'd have kept them that's the thing.
Modric left after him. So did Bale.
If he'd have still been here instead of AVB, I reckon we'd have walked in to the top 4. Possibly even better. Without the court case and the England speculation he'd have been able to focus of his actual job.

I do understand his behaviour made it almost impossible to keep him on, but I don't think sacking him has helped in any way at all.
The only reason Bale wouldn't have left is because he wouldn't have turned into the powerhouse AVB turned him into.

Modric Would have gone too. He was itching for a move the summer before, don't forget.

Anyway, that's completely off topic so let's get it back on track. Happy with the news of a pending announcement. Not sure on the choice but we have to support him.

Pochettino certainly can't match Harry's record of getting three different sides relegated

Can you re-post it please Hottie

This club will turn my hair grey with their shenanigans. But just as I'll only ever love one man, I'll also only ever love one football club, so whoever the new manager is, I will still back and support them. It's really quite black and white.

Basically what I mean is we all love the club, and will continue to do so, no matter who is in charge, and arguing about that won't change anything.

Agreed.
Soldado is a lazy shit. Every game I saw him in at the lane he was stood around the D doing fuck all. I'm not gonna lie, it angered me every time I was there watching it.
Yet he gets almost universal support.
Ade fails to score (less often) and is the target for unbelievable criticism.

That stinks to me. It stinks of they're being an underlying cause for that hate. Which shouldn't matter, be it racism, arsenal connection or history. All that matters is what he does in the here and now.

I personally don't trust Ade... and that's not because his Arsenal connection or history at other clubs. I don't trust him because I don't believe he cares about anything other than his own performance.

The reason Soldado gets so much support is because there is clearly a fantastic goal scorer in him... he's more likely than Ade to be the 25 goal a season striker we need. Ade plays in patches. Soldado, at Valencia was consistent. If he can find that consistency for us, we're going to be in a good position.

As for the accusation that for some members on here, their distrust of Ade may be steeped in racism I can only say this...

You sir, are a plum.

This is another 'the jury's out' appointment isn't it? We will get behind him and see how he does but we needed a proven old-head to at least get the best out of what we have already at the club. But lets be optimistic anyway...

I don't know much about Pochettino really. I know his team did an awful lot better than I thought they would with a lot of players that came up from the lower leagues and are suddenly international-class. If like Clyne says he gets the very best out of his players by getting it into their heads they are anyone's equal then that is a good thing. Can you imagine if he not only gets the best out of Lamela and Soldado, but Walker, Townsend, Rose (!), Chiriches, Sandro and Paulinho are also turned up a notch? We may have a very good team in there somewhere.

That's a very narrow way to look at things. He had the 3rd highest net spend last season so according to that stat he should have been in the CL places but he finished mid table. Yes 8th is commendable for Southampton but I don't agree when some members say he's over achieved. A lot of factors have to be considered when judging a manager.
