RE the Cobra's info last night about Bale - how does anyone know he will sign, until he does. Even the most loyal of players doesn't 'know' if they'll sign until they have the pen in hand. Surely you sign when your demands are met. If Bales demands had been met he would have signed already.

Truth is, Bale might sign. Madrid are probably telling him not to, so they can get him a bit cheaper next season.

What is interesting this year, and different to last is that there as been no official announcement by Levy issuing a hands off note to anyone. Now that either means we are willing to sell, or there hasn't actually been any official bid - just Marca dicking around.

Or he sees it as a pointless exercise as if Bale eventually says he wants to go, he may have to sell him, leaving him with egg all over his bald face, as happened with Berbatov and Modric.

Mate, you've just hit nail on head for me. I've realised that's what Ronaldo has always reminded me of: a show pony! Stupid little ballerina boy... Can see him with silks round his knees prancing and dancing around...
Re media & Bale. As someone else suggested its a shame commentators & "journalists" don't do enough research to realise Real owe us ratboys money still.. 'Lets set up an hire purchase scheme to buy our players'.... I've been sucked in and I'm riled to say the least. Sign soldier-boy today please to shift my focus.....

 ... totally and utterly

The Sporting World seems to be a bit quite this morning as it appears even the BBC dedicated their entire sports bulletins on all platforms to the Bale discussion this morning *sigh*

As far as it makes any sense to me, it doesn't matter what RM offer, from our point of view it comes down to how much it's going to cost to re-build the loss of Bale and let's be honest, for the position he plays, he pretty much is irreplaceable. Ronaldo, Hulk and erm.... exactly, neither of those are coming so the fee is kinda irrelevant.

We got 33m for modders last year, but because a) less than half was paid up front and b) everyone jacked their prices (especially for AVBs alledged replacement in Moutinho) we were unable to replace him. Yes I know Dembele has done a great job, but not the same player at all.

As our illustrious leader has held firm (at least for a year) in the past, I'm going to back him to do the same again, even if the figures are eye wateringly large.

In other news, I genuinely thought that Soldado would be announced yesterday on the anniversary of the Klinsmann signing, let's hope the medical booked for today is for him.

WHERE IS MY SHINY NEW SOLDADO?!!!:cautious:

Really need some confirmations of something before I get fired for spending all day reading this thread!

Our main problem last season was missing sitters and not putting away chances in the penalty box, Soldado should solve that problem, even without Bale i think we can make Top 3 although i would prefer Bale to stay

I just don't see us sliding to 6th to 10th without Bale, but it goes without saying that i want us to keep him.

Arsenal still came 4th without Van Persie and 3rd when they sold Fabregas

Utd didn't slide when they sold Beckham / Ronaldo / Van Nistelrooy

Onwards and upwards with or without Bale

Couldnt disagree any more. Obviously everyone has their own onion, but look at the impact of previous sales. We progressed gradually but it was always the hard way and there was always a transition period of frustration. If we ever want to be taken seriously as a club we need that added extra bit of help because we are starting behind the clubs you mentioned. Arsenal are Premier League winners. Not to mention consistant CL. Same with United but 10-fold. Now with Chelsea and City its getting harder each year. We sell Bale you can pretty much write us off for any kind of silverware challenge, maybe if lucky we'll scrap for 4th and no doubt come 5th. Again. With Bale who knows what we can go on and achieve this season he is just that good.

This is just on the pitch effects. Off the pitch it is stratesphoric what he can bring to the club.

His bald face? Don't you mean his bald head? Of course, technically his face is bald too ( apart from the eyebrows).

This is Real Madrid we are talking about here...
They, like most big clubs destabilise a player, talk to them, about them and always in such a way as to not quite do too much to be brought up in front of FIFA. After all, Marca is not officially Real Madrid and cannot be used in a case against them unless there was proof that someone within the club were asking them to print this stuff.

Besides, direct contact to agents etc is always the best way anyway... players dont always follow the press.

Anyway, once this is done, said club(s) low ball you. Player wants to leave, so you now "have" to accept this lower offer... only of course you don't, but that's what they want.

I believe there will be no record bid for Bale, RM can't afford it. They will do ALL in their power to get Bale to force our hands from within.

As for my stance? I don't want to ever sell Bale... I would love him to be our Gerrard, our new King. A player who looks at this club and wants to drag it kicking and screaming over the finish line all by themselves if he has to... I do think Spurs could really start to challenge for serious silverware. We are really starting to have the players to do it and i just hope Bale sees that and loves the club enough. I don't know what to believe in terms of what his thoughts are, but that is normal, i am not ITK and I take everything said on here as truthful in it's own right, but never gospel until the OS says so.

I don't want 100m from Real Madrid, I don't want 150m I don't care.. i don't want the money as I would rather we had the Talisman that is Bale. I however am thinking with my heart and not as a businessman. But despite my logical self understanding all the business reasons there are (player acquisitions, stadium, etc...) I am still a fan and like any fan you want the best players gracing your hallowed turf.

Here's hoping Bale graces us with his abilities next season and beyond.

Oh and on the Medical for today, yeah could be Soldado, more inclined to think internal due to Soldado's commitments this morning in Spain, but even if it is him (and I have wanted this player for some time), i am like many on here more focussed on bale as he is our player and we know how much he means to us in the EPL.

If it was a simple case of replacing somebody like you say then why did we struggle so much whenever bale didn't play!? Most of bales goals were solo efforts out of nowhere so players like paulinho and soldado who you say won't get the goals bale does. Also we had 10 other players on the pitch last season so take away bale, that's 20 odd goals that need replacing from 1 player. Who could we possibly buy that would achieve this?

Soldado, Defoe & ANother will bring more goals than just Ade & Defoe without necessarily detracting from Bale's barnstormers.

Here's a theory / chain of events..

Lewandowksi is staying at Dortmund, at least for another year. Bayern have already sold Gomez. I can't believe Guardiola will go into the season without adding a top forward.

Cavani, Soldado(!), Negredo, Higuain have all gone. Suarez is surely one of the very few realistic options in the market.
Having sold Higuain, Real will need to re-enforce forward line and will need their annual marquee signing. Can they afford to let Suarez go to Bayern? Can they afford to put all their eggs in the Bale basket? I don't think so... Any Suarez developments may directly impact what happens with Bale in my opinion.

Creative maybe but I think it all links up. Also leaves Arsenal high and dry and without any influence what so ever. Shame that.

I believe that Marca's front page today is saying that Levy is impossible to deal with and is asking £125m or something like that

I may be wrong but I read this as the first step in them climbing down

"we have done everything we can to secure Bale except make an acceptable actual bid to his club, he is desperate to come but Levy won't sell full stop. We are Real Madrid and the Real Madrid fans know we are the best team in Spain not called Barcelona but there is no dealing with this Levy bloke at the moment because his outlook auto forward says he is on holidays for the next 10 days. Lets move on to Suarez"

or am I just being too hopeful?

Ive taken some journo style liberties to rehash you story post

We know that levy has a massive pair of balls, and all this talk of Perez always gets his man will only strengthen Levy's resolve to prove that his are larger. If no bid has been made, let alone a world record fee, then there really is nothing to discuss. All this whining in the press, levy this levy that, bale desperate to go, poor Madrid not getting sucked off by little Tottenham. There's no fucking bid! We haven't refused anything yet by the look of it. I'm sure we will. I bet the fee levy has in mind is the big 100m for this year, which if real did pay would show beyond doubt who the mug is of the two chairmen.

They'd laugh their balls off. Why on earth would Ronaldo want to come here.

Err cos we are the biggest club on the planet with a rich history and an ethos in football copied by everyone else.

God I sounded just like a Liverpool fan there!
