DL needs to think that if he is going to sell Bale (Which he won't) he should do it now to give us ample time to find replacements before the new season begins...for me, the only people who can do that job in the whole of Europe is Di Maria or Lamela, who Baldini may have connection to at Roma. But both of those will cost in access of £30m at least. If we sell Bale, everyone we're interested in will stick an extra £5-10m on the price, all of a sudden Damiao will cost us £40...

But then again, didn't Paulinho sign for us to work with AVB and Bale?? if we're building a team around him, and making him Club Captain, why would he want to go?.....or he could go to Real Madrid with Ozil, Di Maria, Isco, Modric, Kaka, Ronaldo, even this new Johnny-Pencil-Pusher from Sociedad, need i say more??

Correct. The two branches of defamation - libel is in permanent form, slander in transitory. The argument over social networking sites has always interested me as you can delete a post instantly, unlike a newspaper, which once published is permanent. But I believe social networking sites do come under lible.

That's because deleting isnt actually deleting in code terms, nothing is ever really deleted as in, you can most certainly unpick people's deleted data even if its been written over. The only sure fire way is to destroy the physical drive with a magnet, so its not considered to be mere 'talk'.

I disagree - look at Arsenal losing their star players almost on a yearly basis yet still retaining a conveyor belt of talent allowing them to continually finish in a Chamoions League place and thus retaining the revenue stream.

Of course it'll be a huge blow to lose Bale but if you sacrifice his output and highlight reel goals for a top goalscorer in Soldado and a few other acquisitions then surely if we finish higher than 5th then progress has been made?

Yidio on Bale [Update 201]

Nothing that has happened this summer has been new or unexpected. We knew Real would make an offer. We knew they'd use every trick in the book to try and force a move. Has Bale's head turned? Who's wouldn't. Doesn't mean he no longer maintains any of the feelings towards the club and manager that he's stated in recent interviews. He will be fine.

DL (who is in Miami on a family holiday and has not mentioned coming home early) has the power to say yes or no, the press/Perez/Zidane/RM players all have absolutely no control over this. I'm repeatedly told it will be a no, regardless of what's put on the table. Just as with Modric in 2011, he isn't for sale.

Stick to your word DL, for the love of all things Spurs, stick to your word.

The only thing that worries me is the message it sends to our other top players like Lloris and what it says about our project but still, not even United could keep Ronaldo away from Real.

A&C will clarify this in tomorrow's thread but we just wanted to let people know that Akqayid doesn't like people on here referring to him as a WUM and has threatened legal action for slander if people don't stop being mean about him.

As we don't like laughable threats of legal action, we don't think we have much option but to ban him completely from here but it's also worthwhile reminding people that they are responsible for their posts.

Have only skimmed over a little today as been busy, has aqua posted something? Or am I being a dimwit?
